Madden 09 is my favorite version...Is that possible??

I just loaded this game and the animations are so smooth but yet realistic. Lots of solid contact and players have a great sense of weight and many little moving parts that look very natural.

Players plant their feet realistically. DBs seem to play and react realistically in coverages rather than artificially mirroring the wr like in more recent versions.

I love the stylized player models. They have a very cool look and feel to their proportions and movements. There's almost no warping and player collision is very clean.

What is everyone's thoughts on how Madden 09 ranks in the anals of Madden versions?

WHat are its strengths and Weaknesses?

I don't really know. I played madden twice, because that was the year I started playing HC. Which I still play today sometimes.

The game is horrible, the more you play it you'll see. You get so many scripted outcomes on certain plays, the same animations over and over again. There's so much wrong with that game that I could write a novel.

Madden 6, 7, 8, and 9 if they were released by any other company with no NFL license would have been mocked mercilessly.

The same "reviewers" giving the games 8's and 9's would have given those games 3's and 4's if they were released by Joe Blow Software Company.

I agree...but since I am a sucker for collector's editions I kept mine.

ew madden 09 was terrible. I own like 50 xbox 360 games. its the only one ive ever given away.

The thing that kills Madden 06-12 is the way the receivers and defenders get sucked/warp into the ball. It's a complete joke and is a disgrace to football games IMO. Madden 13 is better in that area and IMO that's probably the biggest difference between 12 and 13 at this point. Also the commentary. Not that madden 13 is good, but Madden 12 stunk in audio.

Depends on which version.
I bought the colletors edition on the 360 and got so mad at the game for ratings not meanig anything, AI logic horrible, and bad offseaon dicsions made by the AI.

I have 09 on the PS2 and find it so much better than the 360/PS3 version. Because I opted out of buying Madden 13 and NCAA 13 this year, which with the problems both games have Im glad I didnt buy them, I am enjoying the older games better.

I have right now Madden 08 PC, Madden 04 PC, Madden 09 PS2, NCAA 06 and 08 Xbox, NFL 2k4 and 2k5 for Xbox, and looking to get Madden 11 and NCAA 11 for the PS2. It really depends on your point of view and how you percieve the game really though.

Only thing that comes to mind every time Madden 09 comes up is players covered in mud during rain games. Yeesh!
