Re: Best Rebuilding project in Madden 13 CCM?

I'm in year 2 with the Browns and having a blast! I finished 8-8 in year 1 and drafted a solid WR at 13th overall. I DO NOT TRADE UNLESS IT'S A DRAFT DAY TRADE!

I mean seriously, when do teams ever make trades during the season? How bout RARELY EVER! Only time you see trades in on draft day.

I didn't resign Cribbs, and Massaqoi declined my offer so I had to draft a WR in the first round. Hoping the Weeden pans out but not that hopeful, as I have had a worse year statistically in year 2 than in year 1 somehow lol. Currently I am 5-4 in year 2.

A lot of holes to fill! I switched to a 3-4 defense as well in year 1 so I had to sign and draft players to fit better than I had.

If you find some good sliders or create your own as I have, play the game realistically...meaning DON'T TRADE! And don't mind having a losing record when u are playing with a team like the Browns then rebuilding a team through the draft will be fun and very rewarding.

Re: Best Rebuilding project in Madden 13 CCM?

I'm rebuilding the Jets.

I cut:
Sanchez and Scott.

I traded:
Holmes for a 2 to the Skins.
Tebow to the Vikings for a 5.
Greene to the Chiefs for a 4.

I then went 3-13 (with the black sliders) and got the number 1 pick.
Didn't resign since I had like 30 million in cap hits for the cuts and trades:
Keller, Moore, Devito, Edwards, or Howard.
I franchised Landry.

-I was able to trade down from 1 to 5 adding their second and their 1 for 14 (there wasn't a franchise QB in the draft).
-I then traded down from 5 to 20 adding their third and their 1 for 14!
-I drafted almost all defense this draft and filled the rest of my team with UDFA.

So now I have 3 1's for the 14 draft to go along with my 2-7's.
-Going to try and get my QB and build the O.
-I plan on trading one of the one's for a 15 one (Patriot's style)

Man, I much prefer the whole draft and develop philosophy. I respect but totally don't understand the "rebuilding" that means cutting/trading everyone for tons of picks and picking up known studs.

Like with OAK, I let Palmer play out 1 year of his 2 year deal and then cut him. I made a commitment to Tate at WR in FA for 4 years. He's underperforming, but I'm going to make that commitment for three before I'll cut him. Then I just make sure that when I pick up pre-season FA, I use them as specialists or roster fillers that aren't better than the starters. Like rather than taking an 85 OVR to replace Burris, I'll start Burris and take a guy in the lower 70s or high 60s to groom/fill the roster.

I drafted one monster at FS, two roster fillers at LB, and a clipboard guy at QB, all of whom I'll keep through their contracts, and I'll give preference to resigning my own guys and continuing to develop them over bringing in a ton of FA, since in real life roster continuity is generally a better thing than high turnover.

Pretty much what I did with the Cards. Int trade I made was for Ryan Mallett to be my future franchise QB. I even kept Kolb to battle Mallett for the starting job in the preaseason. Didn't resign a few high rated Defensive guys like Kerry Rhodes because he wanted too much
