CCM Coaching Question: Demand my release?

So I'm entering my third year as the HC of the Baltimore Ravens. My record is 30-6, I have almost 2000 legacy points and am ranked #110 all time on the total list. I would like to transfer to another team at the end of the season (or when its possible after a few more seasons) and I have a few questions.

Which is better to do, demand your release or just turn down your extension? If you turn down your extension, will that leave you as a free agent?

And more importantly, has anyone found out how much legacy you need or the qualifiers to receive offers from teams. I'd rather not have to retire my character!
