Injury and IR rate in your CCM's?

I have player injuries on my mind and it has me wondering what people are seeing in their leagues in regards to injury rates and IR rates per team?

According to the following article, the NFL saw an average of 7.3 players per team placed on IR in 2011; Knee injuries make up the largest of the causes for placing players on IR.

I know I am not seeing the number of injuries and definitely not knee injuries...

So what rates are you seeing? Majority of injury types? Do you believe injury rates should be better represented? Should conditioning coaches and their quality affect injury rates to a degree?

I'm hoping that injuries will receive a major overhaul and become similar to the system used in Head Coach.

As for my CC, user teams very rarely get more that 2 or 3 players on IR and certain players are never included (QB for example). I want to see a greater variety of injuries (this includes injury type, duration and position). They are such a crucial part of the NFL that is so poorly represented in Madden

until we see a practice squad, as well as 46 man gameday rosters, I don't want to see an increase in injuries. my issue is that the FA wire is too packed with high rated players, they fix that as well, and id feel less guilty signing one of the FA's to replace an injured player

Well, the FA wire rating thing falls into EA needs to overhaul the overall entirely. Only a few players should be 90+, not 170 or so(latest roster) players, that's stupidly high. It should only be like 40 or so.

As to the injuries, I rarely ever get IR injuries when I play the games or even a couple week injuries. I do think there should be a practice squad of players to be able to replace the guys who go down with injuries. That should go along with the overall problem because it should be ok to have a mass group of guys in the 50s or lower. The ratings should be skewed where only a select few are higher than 80+ and they rest are less than that 80, which will make the better players stand out and you will feel it when you lose your guy and replace him with some 65 overall guy.

Injuries and penalties have no rhyme or reason in Madden, so I lower them or turn them off to be non-existent; Roger Goodell would be proud.

Shouldn't the only penalties be on be Face Mask, Defensive Pass Interference, Punt Catch Interference and Roughing the Passer/Kicker? As Goodell teaches us, defense is bad mmmmmk.

Re: Injury and IR rate in your CCM's?

I don't think there are enough injuries with the default settings, but putting the Injury slider between 55 and 60 gives me a reasonable amount of adversity to face over the course of a season (possibly still too low compared to real NFL injury numbers, but Madden lacks "nagging injuries" which players commonly play through). I haven't had to IR too many people, for better or worse.

More often than not, I have to deal with injured wide receivers. I guess I hang them out to dry a lot, heh.

Re: Injury and IR rate in your CCM's?

I have Injuries on 75 for this reason, and might increase it more.

My bigger issue is the lack of injuries on CPU teams since you can't adjust that. I remember one year I had like 7 guys out at once and it seemed like never less than 4 were out and loved it. But then most CPU teams are at 0-2 with a few teams having rough injury luck.

Even without practice squads, I'd like higher injury rates. The nominal amount of players will be lower, but the percentage of the roster impacted I would like higher (won't have 10-12 guys on IR/out for several weeks, but 4 to 6 consistently out of 53 is still relatively sizable, for example)
