So just move the team and keep their name as it is, problem solved no?

I have no problem with most of the names, but the Austin Bats? That would never fly(no pun intended), but then again there's the New Orleans Pelicans.

They can't because at some point in time, EA came up with that name as well.

Kidding. But seriously, I don't think the names are that bad. Sure there are some that I would never use. But I also recognize that my taste in names/logo/design may not be the same as others. I love the Texas Rangers uniforms but most find them mediocre at best. Different strokes for different folks.

There is a reason that they used the name Bats with Austin. It's actually a very popular thing to see when you're down in Austin. It's almost like clock work each night around sunset when tons (And I mean tons) of Bats will take flight from underneath the Congress Avenue bridge and fly through Downtown Austin. It's almost a tourist attraction of sorts these days. That is likely why they decided to use that name. With that said, I can understand why it doesn't exactly strike fear in the opposition. But what do I know, I didn't think the Dublin Celtic Tigers were as bad as people are making it out to be. Then again, I'm Irish and from Texas...so maybe I just defend what I love too much. Lol

The Pelican is the state bird of Louisiana .. So it actually makes a lot of sense.

The New Orleans Pelicans have a vicious rivalry with the Alabama Alka-Seltzers...The Seltzers get all up in the Pelicans throats and cause them to explode in utter defeat.

It's also the name of New Orleans' current NBA franchise. No bueno.

Eh, it is what it is. For some reason, we all think that team names have to be intimidating and manly these days. But what is manly or intimidating about the following team names:

Yankees
Red Sox
White Sox
Saints
Packers
Dolphins

I mean I wouldn't want the Mavericks to make a switch over to the Hummingbirds but I guess if it's relevant to the State and wins on the field/court, it doesn't really matter.

I’m interested to see what the stadiums look like and if there will be a background native to that area.

Being from Texas, I have to agree. I think Houston and San Antonio both should’ve been excluded and they could have left it with Austin. With that said, you don’t have a problem with them putting in California and Florida cities that both already have three teams each?

And finally, I must be overly-Irish. Because I got a little bit giddy when I saw that I could not only move a team to Dublin, Ireland (A gorgeous city with amazing sports fans) but also be able to call them the Shamrocks and have an official Logo with Nike Uniforms.
honestly i didnt even realize that they were putting more teams in those states. i saw the post about moving the oilers back to houston and focused mainly on that. i do wish that CA and FL were excluded from where you can move teams. only thing im partial about is LA was excluded just for the fact that it looks almost guaranteed to get the next NFL team.

I do know that Dolphins partake in s3xual gang bangs and commit acts of rape; that is rather scary if you ask me.
