On top of that...can you perfrom a defensive swing only from a contact swing (no pull back on the stick) or can you also perfrom it from the power swing (with a pull back of the stick)?

And why no check swing if you are trying to simulate baseball where check swings can make or break an at bat or a game? Real hitter second guess their swing all the time...why can't we?

Are there tailing line drives ?

In MLB 2K9, I saw balls go through bats. Will I see this in MLB 2K10 ?

Re: MLB 2k10 Interview questions needed - PS Nation Podcast

Was there anything done to bat and ball physics this year?

By bat physics, I'm referring to the way the timing of the hit (as well as the pitch location) effects the way the ball is put in play. That is, it should be impossible to inside-out an opposite field home run regardless of the timing.

By ball physics, I'm referring to the way that it travels through the air and bounces on the ground and dirt, as well as the spin of the ball affecting the overall physics. Are there tailing drives down the line? If we uppercut a swing but swing above it with contact, will we induce any sort of top spin? Is there a difference between the ball bouncing on dirt and the ball bouncing on grass? Is their air drag/friction that will slow down the ball mid-flight?

My other two main questions are a bit more open-ended:

1) What was the logic behind the Batter's Eye implementation? I understand there is a little incentive to give us an advantage since a ball gets to the plate so quickly (a fastball reaching it in four-tenths of a second) and I know that it's to better represent players with a better ability to pick up the ball, but what of the visual design such as the text indicating what pitch type it is? Furthermore, in a "realistic" sense, what's the reason for it sometimes popping up while the pitcher is still in their windup? As a baseball player, the best I can ever do is guess what's coming... that's what good Inside Edge gives us. However, even if I noticed the pitcher going with his curve on 0 - 2 counts for the last four batters and if I hear the catcher shuffling to the outside part of the plate on me, there are still variables such as a pitcher changing up what he wants as well as the pitcher flat out missing his spot. There is absolutely no way that anyone can be certain about what a pitch is until it leaves his hand (unless he tips it, which doesn't ever happen with veteran pitchers).

2) What drove you guys to re-implement the swing stick control scheme, and what ramifications were involved in making it how it is? For instance, what were the considering factors in separating a power swing from a contact swing again, especially if it becomes another homerfest with big guys and a slapfest with little guys? What would you consider to be the default swing mechanic this time around? With us having absolutely no aim for making contact with the ball, if a pitch is in the strike zone and we time it perfectly, is there any possible way that we flat out miss the pitch? Because, you know... I see it happen quite often in baseball.

Cool.

This right here is critical for me when it comes to baseball video games in 2010 and beyond. It's gotta be in or I ain't buyin' it.

Blzer, you took my " Are there tailing line drives " question and elaborated perfectly. I hope they address your questions.

1. Can you please find out about weather effects? Are there rain delays, rain-outs, doubleheaders, etc. Do the retractable roofs close or can you at least choose open/closed?

2. Is there a franchise score ticker/or alerts when a pitcher is warming up etc.

3. Can you also check to see if stadium animations are back in ...train at minute maid, bernie brewer, apple in citi field, etc.

Is there logos painted on the field and bunting/banners hanging around the stadium for the playoffs? Also, are the fans louder in the playoffs?

In 2k baseball games, a playoff game is always identical to a regular season game, and that just isn't right! How could they not at least try and capture the magical October atmosphere?!!!
