MLB 2K12 Official How's your Franchise Going Thread

I didn't see a thread like this in here yet and I was curious how all y'all are doing in your franchises...so it seemed like a perfect time to create a thread like this.

I'll start, my Tigers chise (in my signature below) has started off a little rocky. I'm 2-2 after I got shut out for the 2nd game in a row (Buchholz and Helickson got me.) Prince and Miggy aren't swinging all that well yet and I've scored a total of 6 runs in my 4 games. But on the positive side, Verlander and Fister were excellent in their starts. The rookie hurler Jacob Turner is debuting in my game that I'm playing right now against Tampa.

EDIT: Turner pitched well and got me a W...the only win I got against Tampa as I lost 2 of 3 against them. If you want to check it out more, click the link in my sig haha

Started a franchise with my Astros off to a 0-2 start in spring training....trying a few young guys out before I sin to the regular season...got shut out in my first game 8-0 by the orioles wandy rodriguez got torn up in my second game against the bravest I had a home run in the first and that ended up being my only score of the game Norris pitched very well aside from a homerun to heyward-bey I actually managed 11 hits but could not get around the bases...here's hoping for a better offensive output in my next game against the nationals

Poorly so far. Being the A's and all I lose a lot. I'm playing 1 game a week and simming the rest. I created Cespedes, and made him pretty decent, but I have no idea if he'll actually be good. As for the games I've played I lost them all. Except for the very first one I played in spring training when I scored 4 runs. In the 6 or 7 games I've played since then I have scored 3 total runs. I'm very bad at hitting. I'm not patient enough yet. And I've cost myself at least 3 more runs by stupid base running. And likely at least 1 win.

The A's are 14-21 at moment and last in the AL west. As the season progresses, I'm probably going to unload McCarthy for as good a prospect as I can get. I haven't made up my mind on Fuentes/Crisp/Suzuki yet. They all have another year on their deals, but I want to get bang for my buck so I can field a more competitive team as soon as possible which currently looks to be 2014.

Yeah, the A's are challenging to play as because they have a lack of hitters honestly. The pitching is alright (but the trades of Gio and Trevor really thinned them out in the rotation.) The A's aren't playing all that well in my franchise with the Tigers. They sit at the bottom of the AL West 3 games back of the 3rd place...Angels? Yes! The Mariners have started off pretty well and are a mere 1/2 game behind Texas for the lead in the AL West.

          Atlanta Braves-chise:

I am in spring training still tweaking sliders to my liking for realistic results, based off mkharsh slider set and rosters. Just as in real life I am very concerned about the Atlanta lineup as far as hitting is concerned. Pitching I am not concerned about, as their is plenty of depth, and actually might trade some pitchers with underperforming position players to get some more bats. Particularly 3rd base ofcourse with 39 year old chipper, will not drop or trade him as I will let him retire as a Brave, but have to think longterm as well as this season. The game is fun and the commentary is amazing this year, really in depth. Do not want to hear about Braves dismal ending to 2011 season anymore though....

I will post how things are going along with roster moves as soon as I get to regular season.

10-2 with Milwaukee on Pro, Default Sliders.
Won a bunch of close games. Axford has 5 saves already. Had a few big wins. I also just got shutout my last game. So all in all, no unrealistic games.

Checking in with my Tigers again, I've come strong out of the gate to get a 25-16 record just past the quarter poll of the season. Miguel Cabrera is leading the charge for Detroit with a .377 average, 16 HRs and 42 RBIs, he's challenging for the triple crown, being 2nd in all three categories. Prince Fielder has had a pretty solid start, with a .290 average, 8 HR and .17 RBI)

Doug Fister is dominating for me, 6-1 with a 1.79 ERA and 73 Ks through his first 8 starts and Verlander's been pretty good too. Jose Valverde is 15 for 15 in saves and Rookie Jacob Turner is 6-2 with a sub 3 ERA. Overall, a good start for me and my team as we lead Cleveland by 5 games for the division.

4-2 with my Dodgers. Still messing with sliders. Almost at a sweet spot. A few more games should do it.

Using MK's sliders, I am 1-3. I lost to the Mets 11-2, then won 13-7, then lost 5-4 in the 14th on a walk off HR to Vinny Rottino of all people. I went on to play the Astros in Houston and got up 1-0 early, then added on in the 8th to make it 2-0. I went for the complete game SO with Beachy and it backfired. They tied it back up, then in the 9th, another walk off HR loss for me in back to back games.

My pitching has obviously gotten a lot better if you look at the scores and amount of hits I'm giving up. Now I just need more offense, but inconsistent offense is the Braves' specialty. I'm sure I'll turn my record around soon, I'm still getting a feel for the new game and sliders.

A few things I find funny. Dan Uggla has one hit on the year, his average is .057, and that hit is also a HR. Brian McCann has 5 HR's, all in the last 3 games, he is batting .667 on the year. No one else has any HR's outside those two. Also, Freddie Freeman leads my team with two steals, and yes, I am playing all innings, so I have manually somehow stolen more bases with Freeman than anyone else on my team. He only has two, but we're only 4 games into the season haha.

Also, Dan Uggla leads the majors with 5 errors on the year. The dude just cannot field a ball cleanly as most are fielding errors, not throwing errors, so they're not even my fault, they're truly Uggla's fault. And that is also even after knocking down the errors one notch from MK's initial base set.

I do really enjoy this game though. A nice step up from 2k11 in my opinion and I'm still getting used to it, but I feel my team is going to finish strong and I'll probably finally finish a 162 game season for once.

Worked out my sliders tonight. I will be starting my franchise once the Opening Day Rosters come out. I will be controlling all teams, playing season#1 as the Phillies, and plan on playing all 162 games with them. Will be the first time I've ever done that, as I usually sim about month's worth of games (or more).

My season is coming along very poorly. The A's are 32-49 and dead last by a long ways in the AL west. Personally I have won 1 of the 14 games I've played. Awesome.

There are some really annoying qualities, the dynamic pop up system is...well stupid. Major leaguers basically never drop pop ups and I've dropped 2 in one game. Also errors by the 2nd baseman are way too common.

But the real reason I'm horrible is I can't score. Most games I get shut out. And my best output so far is 2 runs which I've done twice. And those runs are pretty much always manufactured. Get a single with a fast guy, steal 2nd and hope for a base hit.

I'm almost there with the hitting, but the A's god awful hitters don't help. I dealt Bartolo Colon for a Single prospect who could be a 4 star starter someday. It allows me to slot Jarrod Parker into the rotation. Other than that, I'll likely deal Brandon McCarthy before the trading deadline. I can pick up Freeman from the braves, too bad he's plays first like all the rest of my young guys...hmm, maybe I could deal freeman for something even better...

Decided to start a franchise with the Royals. Off to a 4-1 start. 2 of 3 from the Angels to open the season. Pujols absolutely murdered Royals' pitching, hitting 3 homeruns and 3 doubles. But, Jeff Francouer salvaged the series with a game winning double in the top of the 9th and Soria had the save.

Battered Bartolo Colon around in game 1 against Oakland and won 7-2. Game 2 was a 4-1 victory with Danny Duffy pitching 6 scoreless.

Royals are a fun team to play with.

Just finished my first series of the regular season my Astros swept the Rockies 3 games to none. Won the first game 2-1 Wandy Rodriguez got the win pitching 7 innings allowing the one earned run and striking out 5. Second game we won 6-3 Bud Norris also had a quality start and win going 7 innings himself allowing two runs and striking out 8.
Third game won 7-6 with a walk off single by jed lowrie the single was his only hit if the day. Carlos Lee had a grandslam in the bottom of the 5th and releif pitcher Juan Abreu got the win.....

Left fielder J.D Martinez was the series mvp going 6 for 13 with a double, triple, and homerun
