Certainly injuries and the situation around the team are clouding the picture. It's really hard to say how good or bad of a job he is doing as skipper. I think he could be a decent manager but he is learning on the job.

Just a little more negativity to the Dodger story over the past 12 months.

After the all star break in 2010 the Dodgers went 31-43. Thru July 5th in 2011 the team is 37-50. 25 games under .500 at 68-93!

I think it's only going to get worse. I have a bad feeling we are going to give up some pitchers (Kuroda & Lily) around the trade deadline. I still haven't attended a game this summer yet (I'm on a McCourt boycott). I can't remember the last time I didn't go to at least one Dodger game.

I know what you're saying. I just can't sit through a game right now even on tv. It's not like the team is completely horrible, there's talent but just too chaotic for one organization right now and a complete mess from the start of the year with the fan incident.

Side note, they picked up Juan Rivera today. Hopefully he can provide some power in the middle of the lineup.

Re: 2011 Los Angeles Dodgers

Juan Rivera is an interesting pick up but I think you're right. By the end of July Kuroda and or Lilly will be gone.

On the brighter side, they did a nice job of representing in the all star game. Kemp, Ethier and Kershaw all had really nice games.

I won't be supporting McCrook either by going to a game in LA this year. Next week though I'm headed up north for work and I'm going to ATT to see them battle the Giants! Really excited about it although I'm going to hide my colors I think.

Re: 2011 Los Angeles Dodgers

I agree with you guys. That deal is interesting. Hopefully Rivera can bring a little pop to left-field. I'm being cautiously optimistic.

@Gizmo. It's hard to watch when Carrol and Miles are the highlight of our infield. I liked watching Dee Gordon while he was with the team, but his bat was non existent.

@ Dodger Blue. I hope the MLB sees how much McCrook is hurting the Dodgers. I know a lot of people who feel the same way as us. Attendance is not down because Dodger Stadium is a "dangerous" place. People are not going because of the way he has ruined our proud franchise. The Dodgers have too much history and tradition for something like this to happen. I get angry just thinking about it.

Re: 2011 Los Angeles Dodgers

Trade deadline is fast approaching. I say deal who we can except for the obvious- Kershaw, Kemp, Ethier (although i heard his name in a rumor), Billingsley, any of the young talent.

Dump the old guys... Furcal, Blake.

I like Kuroda, but if the deal is good enough i'd let him go. Maybe for a young catcher with good potential.

Our farm system needs replenishing. Some decent guys down there Sands, T. Robinson, Gordon and some pitchers that may or may not work out at the big league level. If we can replenish with some good prospects I say make it happen.

The one thing that we need is new ownership or watching this team is going to feel like work!

Re: 2011 Los Angeles Dodgers

If what I just read is true, we traded away one of our top prospects Tray. Robinson in a three way deal. In return we received a AA catcher, AA pitcher and a A pitcher. This is very curious to me for several reasons.

Coletti already has said we are pitching heavy in the minors, although I agree only in quantity rather than quality. So why are we getting more so-so pitching? The catching prospect might be a good pickup since we are very weak at this position at all levels.

Tray was the #2 position player in the organization and showed a lot of potential. I don't see how you trade him away when we can't be certain we will be keeping Ethier and or Kemp at the end of their deals. If you lock up both Ethier and Kemp then maybe there is nowhere to put a guy like Trey who might not have the power numbers to play in left. But I don't see any guarantee that signing them both to long term deals is going to happen.

Right now I don't like this trade one bit.
