Pineda throws a 4-Seam Fastball that sits 95-96 but can touch 98 on occasion. I believe he's been clocked at 100 MPH before, but don't quote me on that.

He also throws a slider and changeup, though I believe his changeup is more of a sinker at this point. His secondary offerings need some work, but right now I'd say they're above average pitches for him.

Maybe you read that his changeup is 92? As I said before, it's more like a sinker at this point and he doesn't take a whole lot off.

Damn, too bad I missed out on this.

Great work with everything though, only thing I would have changed was Truinfel. The guy has been around for what feels like decades. I would have given him a C rather than B.

Re: Seattle Mariners 2011 OS Full Minors Discussion

Some interesting new developments in Mariners World, folks.
Tui was optioned to Tacoma to start the season. This will be his last year of being able to go up and down without going on waivers.
Royce Ring, Denny Bautista, Justin Miller, and Mike Wilson were also sent down.
Not sure if Bautista and Miller will be asking for release or not. But in the mean time they are slated to pull Triple-A insurance call-up duties.
This leaves 5 outfielders left in camp (6 if you count Gimenez). With Guti possibly going D.L. we will probably see Bradley in left, Saunders in center, Ichiro in right, and Langerhans on the bench.
Figgins at third, Brendan Ryan at short, Jack Wilson at second, and Smoak at first.
Adam Kennedy is a lock for utility bench. Josh Wilson too? Maybe.. for now.
Olivo is healthy and will most likely be the starting catcher come opening day, with Moore on the bench.
There are 14 pitchers left in camp. French is throwing against the Rangers today but will likely be sent down to AAA instead of Pineda.
That leaves 8 relievers - Pauley, League, Ray, Wright, Lueke, Laffy, Wilhemsen, and Cesar Jimenez.
Despite being a lefty, I think Cesar will be cut. His ERA this spring does not instill confidence.
That leaves Wilhemsen with a question mark at this point. He might be a lock since the Mariners are going with a 7-man pen.
Good for him. Going from A-Ball to the Bigs in one year after tending bar for most of his 20's. It's like a movie script or something.
On paper it sounds like a bad call-up, but boy does Wilhemsen have some nasty stuff. He is definitely fun to watch.
