Just realized I forgot to type in a bunch of the settings.

I have since edited the first post to show relevant settings only. For ones not shown you can use your own personal preference.

I'm going for a sac fly with McGehee but end up hitting a grand slam into the first row in left center. I go to the top of the ninth trying to close out an easy save, but end up giving up a 3-run HR to Infante tie it, to pretty much the exact same spot where I hit mine. Bottom of the ninth I load the bases again, this time with two outs, and hit a little dribbler with McGehee up the middle to win.

Needless to say, McGehee was player of the game.

Stats:

human/cpu

runs- 5/4
hits- 10/6
2Bs- 1/3
HRs- 1/1

Ks thrown- 9/7
BBs given up- 3/4

Errors- 0/1
SB att- 1/0

Strike%- 60/60
pitches thrown- 149/167
pitches chased by hitters- 24/13

That last number, pitches chased, is usually 20-30 by me and only 10-20 by the cpu. I think that's mainly because I do in fact play the game very casually and don't want to invest a lot of concentration, and so I have a tendency to chase pitches.

Also, when you're not using guess pitch and just relying on see the ball hit the ball it can be kind of tough to pick up pitches, so that probably contributes to my high number of pitches chased as well.
Stats look pretty good. I normally don't have time to take a lot of pitches myself because my gaming time is very limited with 2 little boys, a wife, and a full-time job so I chase a lot of pitches too. When I do have time, I've had some pretty good at-bats working counts and fouling off pitches. For the most part though for me to see 5-6 pitches in an at-bat is pretty rare.

Latest game:

5-1 loss, Gio Gonzalez (me) versus Bedard (cpu) in my fantasy draft season. Gio was dealing, but a few hits in the second, then a hanging curve to Alex Rios and I'm down 3-0. I had my chances, but got thrown out on the base paths twice, and also hit 3-4 really well hit line drives right at outfielders. Gio ended up with 8 Ks in 4 innings.

Stats:

human/cpu

runs- 1/5
hits- 8/8
2Bs- 3/1
HRs- 0/1

Ks thrown- 13/9
BBs given up- 2/4

Errors- 1/2
SB att- 2/0

Strike%- 68/60
pitches thrown- 152/136
pitches chased by hitters- 22/18

Re: Realistic sliders and settings for more casual play, and for those who are strugg

Latest game:

Stauffer (me) versus Cliff Lee (cpu) in my fantasy draft season. I think it's the first time I've faced Lee at all in MLB 11. Not only is he tough, but he also has a funky release that makes the ball hard to pick up. Stauffer gets out of a few jams early, and I manage to get Lee out of the game in the 7th, scoring 3 runs to go up 4-2. Top of the 8th I give up a solo shot to Magglio Ordonez, then a 3-run pinch hit HR to go down 6-4. Bottom of the 8th I have 2 on and 2 out, with #7 hitter Gordon Beckham due up and a righty on the mound. I decide to pinch hit Thome and it pays off big: 3-run HR. I close the game out 1-2-3 in the ninth.

Stats:

human/cpu

runs- 7/6
hits- 11/12
2Bs- 1/2
HRs- 1/2

Ks thrown- 8/5
BBs given up- 2/2

Errors- 1/1
SB att- 1/1

Strike%- 62/65
pitches thrown- 146/132
pitches chased by hitters- 33/19

Cliff Lee was giving me nothing to hit, and was around the edge of the zone most of the time, which explains the high pitches chased by me.

Strange thing, Lee was pulled pretty early though, after only 88 pitches. Don't know if he had low energy from a previous start or what, as that sometimes happens. It was in the 7th, I was down 2-1, and had gotten a base hit to lead off the inning. Maybe my "CPU Hook" is off. I'll have to watch that.

Re: Realistic sliders and settings for more casual play, and for those who are strugg

i used your sliders and got very mad at you at first because my first three batters all struck out and the cpu's first batter hit a hr but then i started to take pitches better and things calmed down and somehow so did pitching and won 5-1. thanks man. oh and quick question if the batting difficulty was rookie and then the sliders were all the up for cpu's accuracy and all that would every pitch be a strike?

Has anyone tried these with meter? What changes would or have you made?

Not every pitch, but you'd see more. I'm pretty sure you'd see more fastballs as well.

I would raise Human Pitch Consistency to 4.
