Should I relent and buy a PS3 for The Show?

I was in your shoes 2 years ago. All that i can say is i'm glad i made the purchase. If your a big baseball fan (which i am) it will be well worth your money. If not, then you should probably pass, and jus stick with what ya got.

Ps3 has alot to offer "beside the show"

free online and exclusive ps3 titles

Games such as Metal gear solid 4, Uncharted 1 and 2, Infamous, Killzone 2, Little big planet, resistence 1 and 2, Mag

and the new up and coming game heavy rain "which I think looks awesome"

But it's comes down to if you can afford it or not....if you have the money and it will not set you back at all..then why not. if any of the games above interest you..i'd say it's worth a ps3.

Really think this through------will it be a $400 gaming machine/Blu Ray player, or, will it become a $400 conversation piece?

I don't have kids, but I know from my brothers that when that baby comes, you'll barely have time to play one game of baseball, watch one movie, etc.


Ultimately, the choice is yours. I'm trying to help you put it in perspective.

I personally think it's one of the best purchases you can make, so if you go this route, congrats!

If not, it's understandable.

I am going to sound like a jerk now, but please hear me out:

What kind of answer are you expecting by posting this thread in an SCEA subforum? Do you honestly expect someone to say, "NO! Don't do it! This game and the system is a serious waste of money!" With the history of both baseball games, The Show has the upperhand. It has been the best baseball game for several years and it doesn't look like MLB 2k10 can catch up if it tried.

Have you posted this thread over in MLB 2k subforum? I have not checked because I don't plan on playing 2k games ever again. They have reamed me more times than I care to admit. I caved in and bought the PS3 so I can play games like The Show, Uncharted 2, and Infamous. I must say it is nice knowing that I will be getting a quality baseball game this year. In the years past, I have been cautious optimistic (kind of like you) about 2k baseball. After several hours, I was bitterly disappointed. After all, video game baseball is what got me started in playing video games. Not having one for the xbox really pissed me off.

Again, not to sound like a jerk. But you are only going to get biased answers when you post in this forum. Not sure where you could post this question, but just felt compelled to say something.

Now I will just cut and paste this exact same message on the next thread that asks, "Should I Buy a Ps3 for this Game?" You know that there will be five more before the game drops.

just buy a used psp man..It plays almost as good as the ps3 version, and has good graphics for a handheld

oh yeah, and you will save 200 bucks!! plus portability

I would wait for the PS4 in the next gen, which should arrive shortly. No need to buy a new console now when it will become outdated soon.

I don't think the PS4 will be out for atleast another 4yrs or so. I haven't heard anything yet about a "PS4" to be coming out anytime soon.
