Imagine you are in a game at YS playing as the Yankees and it's the bottom of the 4th and it's starting to rain. Yankees are up 3-2 over the Orioles and you just want to get the game official so you rush through the bottom of the 4th to get to the top of the 5th. The Orioles make a comeback in the top of the 5th to take the lead 4-3 and the Yankees fail to score in the bottom of the fifth. It starts pouring more and more and the game is called. Orioles win because the game is official. Imagine if you miss out on the playoffs by 1 game.

How about the strategy it adds at the start of the game. Rain is called for 8 30 p.m. Do you use your starter and risk burning him through rain delays? Do you use the 6th starter and save your starter for tommorow?

What if the game gets ppd? One of your days off in the future gets burned for it. That could mean alot during the grind of playing 20 games in 21 days. Maybe a day night double header finally gets included.

How about a Rain Delay/PPD during the playoffs. You or the opponent would be able to use one of your/their better pitchers one more time instead of a 3rd/4th starter.

It just ads alot of realism and strategy to the series. That is why people are wanting it included.
Amen as this is in REAL LIFE Baseball.

Also, wouldn't it be cool if each stadium had their own announcer? Here is to hoping we hear it in MLB The Show 2030

I'm not saying they won't do it (these guys always find a way to pull through for their customers), but don't expect it to happen for a while.

You guys already want to see this in a game....get MLB Power Pros 2008. I'll start a game with unpredictable weather, just to SEE the roof close!

If they implement weather systems into the game, it'd be nice to seem the implement it on a regional basis. Say you're the Orioles at home and you get rained out, but when you check the scores out, not only did you get rained out, but so did the Nationals in DC and the Phillies in Philadelphia. Obviously that's not necessary, but a lot of the time games in multiple cities are affected by the weather all at once and it would add to the realism.

Re: Will we ever see Rain/Delays in this game?

On another note what about having control over the schedule for rain outs like in real mlb? this will give you the opportunity to set up double headers or push games back to a later date!? For people who love to follow the MLB season game for game it will allow them to keep complete pase with actual MLB, i see before each game a option popping up asking wud u like this game to be a rain out or play as regularly scheduled? jus a thought dont no if this is even possible but it would be pretty cool

The best of both worlds would be having a pop up window when starting a game that says it was rained out. Then, if you were home, it would let you pick a new date. This would let thrategy geeks get to worry about pitching rotations (imagine doubleheaders in the game?) while not bothering those who just want to play. They could just hit ok and move on (or turn the option off all together.

Not sure how retractable roof stadiums work in other cities, but Minute Maid Park it's either open for the entire game if there's no rain forecast for that day and the weather isn't terribly hot or closed the entire game. They don't open the roof during games anymore.
