Re: Who will grace MLB '11's cover?

I am hoping for a pitcher. If the Phillies win it all, Doc is going to get it. Especially since this season has been dubbed by every analyst as the season of the pitcher. I thinks its time to get a pitcher on the cover. I am sure the World Series and Cy Young will play a part. Maybe Lee, Price, CC, King Felix, Josh Johnson, and I would like to say Wainwright but he does not get to much press. He has to be the most underated P in baseball, his last 2 years have been phenomenal. Normally its a larger market player. Mauer got it since he is the only player in recent history to turn down bags and bags of money to stay home. He got a ton of press in the offseason. I remember when the Indians traded V. Martinez to the Sox and everyone was saying that will hold them over till they sign Mauer.

As I sit here I am trying to think of a player who was a arguably the best at his position and at Free Agent status who didn't go to a Big market. I know he still had a year before he was going to hit the market but he knew he left cash on the table.

Totally agree with Halladay, as much as I'd like to see a Yankee on there its really been a great year for Halladay.

I would have to go with Halladay. I don't recall seeing a pitcher on the cover before. Robinson Cano would also be a decent choice.

Halladay so that the game will have better and improved pitching. Like last year, Mauer was in the cover so they improved catching

Halladay or Cliff Lee would be nice to see.

Whichever league MVP is more marketable.

Isn't that the pattern lately with Mauer on 10 and Pedroia on 09?
