Re: Do you care if your favorite player has a correct batting stance ?

I am, quite frankly, SHOCKED by the results of this poll so far. Will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow with many more votes.

I voted no btw, being from the school of Bases Loaded and RBI (and more recently, High Heat) - gameplay first. But I thought that line of thinking was in the great minority these days.

Re: Do you care if your favorite player has a correct batting stance ?

At the time the Poll favored Yes by 19 votes & No by 15 votes
Along with my name being viewable you can chalk up another "YES" to the column. Reason being why wouldn't I, Anything that helps bring more relevance and authenticity to the Show the better. Isn't it all about capturing the MLB look, feel and playablilty. Plus it will help SCEA's MLB Motto.

Now the word caring can be mis-interpreted meaning many would just like to see proper batting stances while gaming. Then you have more caring users who will go to great lengths in a beck or moan fashion to see this immediately installed.

This. And the poll is far too vague, so I'm not voting. I can't vote yes, because while I want authenticity, it's ridiculous to expect perfection. And I can't vote no because I do want them at least somewhat close.

Re: Do you care if your favorite player has a correct batting stance ?

As much as I try not to let it bother me, it does in some cases. I don't want it to sound as though i'm complaining, because I would MUCH rather the devs concentrate on improving other things. However, if someone with a rather unique stance is WAY off, and there are no other stances that match him, it just bugs me. Not nearly enough to ruin anything for me, but nonetheless.

An example I can think of is Josh Beckett. His windup is extremely quirky in the game, and not very natural looking. He has one of those windups that came up a couple years ago (MLB 08?) with the pitcher basically jumping at the end of the windup. It's bugged me, but not enough for me to not enjoy pitching with him.

However, given the amount of stances that DO get fixed each year, I really appreciate the effort the devs put in to tweaking them and listening to the fans. Just look at community day. Enough people spoke out about Pujols, and he got fixed. That's dedication.

Re: Do you care if your favorite player has a correct batting stance ?

It bothers me in some cases and in others not so much.

Like I know alot of people say Pujols stance is off, but it doesnt bother me that much because I don't play against him (I use the Yankees 99.9% of the time I play).

But when AL teams that I play alot (Red Sox, Angels, Orioles, Rays, etc.) have stances that are way off it bothers me because I have to look at them when I am pitching.

So it really depends on the team (how often I see them) and it depends on how bad. Cano for example has an okay stance in '10, but he has a 2 handed swing in the game and it should be one handed. He is my favorite player so it killed me to have that wrong.

In short....does it bother me? yes...does it kill me? no...thats what edit player is for.

I really don't notice it for the most part. When I start treating it like real life, that's when I'll put the game down. It is what it is.

not really. So long as its close, I don't care. There are more important things than stances and deliveries for me to enjoy the game.

I don't really care as long as the nuts and bolts of the game are good.
