The info given is certainly helpful for RTTS save files (because the player name's one of the visible info), but the situation is different for season/franchise files.

Say if I have two different franchises going with the same team(s), then the only info we can go by would be the timestamp of the file and/or the dates in those franchises. (For example, the Mets franchises, one with the default SCEA roster, another with the OSFM roster; I think those appear same in save files.)

As a dumb proof measure, one additional piece of info that is unique to each season/franchise would reduce the amount of sweat when overwriting save files...

I don't know what that additional info should be though.... maybe a custom tag when creating a franchise?? Just a thought...

...and loading.
When I have a regular MLB franchise going and also one with the fictional players or even with classic players....it's hit and miss which one I'm loading.

no about right out of the box, like when you start a brand new franchise, like restarting the 2011 free agency, in 2012.

That's the thing, it doesn't have the feature right now, and Russell_SCEA mentioned it might not happen due to some internal technical reasons.

What I suggested is just a workaround.

Maybe use numbers starting with one on saves. Then we just could write the save number and what it contains.

Re: Redo off season

I would like the ability to trade anyone in the offseason. I love the fact that this game let's us go to arbitration and renew contracts, but the fact that these players cannot be traded until the end of February annoys me when I'm trying to acquire players via trades as opposed to free agency.

I completley agree with this. Just today I was in the offseason of my franchise and was hoping to try and trade for Gio Gonzalez... I went to make my offer and it said he could not be traded because he didn't have a contract. That was fine and I totally understand that... however, the very next day (on the game calendar), Oakland traded him to the Red Sox. I thought well maybe he sigend a contract so good for them. I went to see if I could try and get him from Boston and it said he couldn't be traded because he didn't have a contract!... What gives? Apparently the computer can trade anyone they want between each other but it won't even let me make an offer for those players.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this just a bug/glitch in the trade AI? I'm not mad that I couldn't trade for a player with no contract but the computer shouldn't be able to freely swap the same players.

If I'm missing something, please tell me as I love the game and simming franchises just for the offseason stuff.... but this glitch ruined it since the playing field is no longer even.

The exact same thing happens in mine too. Players not under contract can be traded by the computer, but not by the user in my experiences. I would certainly love for this to be remedied.
