Re: Road to the Show Improvement Ideas

There should be a practice mode for whenever we want, and it doesn't have to give us training points.

Just like if we want to take extra batting practice in between games, or on an off day, or if we want to take extra ground balls.

Let us access that through menus whenever we want with our player.

Have a Top 100 Prospects list, like something Baseball America does. You could start out unranked and work your way up the list as you progress. Then, let's say you are a batter ranked in the Top 10 and you're facing a pitcher in the Top 10, the commentators would talk about it and you could earn extra training points (ala NBA 2K). Being higher on the list would improve your chances of being called up, and your team would value you more. There could also be scouting reports and such on all of the prospects on the list. Maybe even be able to earn bonus stuff/rewards if you get ranked in the Top 10 or even number one.

Something that I would really love implemented not only in RTTS but also in franchise is closer appearances. Closers don't just come in during save situations. Most closers throw 60ish innings per year not just 1 inning to get the save (or blown save). So they only have 30 innings and 30 saves.

Just my 2 cents.

I would like to see the ability to choose our potential (A to F) when beginning an RTTS. This would allow people to decide what type of experience they want. The lower the potential, the less training points you receive each time. For example an F potential player would need an injury or something just to even sniff the major leagues even if they have a good career like a Bobby Scales. It would also be nice to be a C or D player and have to work your *** off and do all the little things just to stick in the majors as a utilityman.

Re: Road to the Show Improvement Ideas

Have the interaction asking to change positions actually work. As a 3rd basemen, I got traded to Baltimore who was deep in the position. LF was thin, but every time I ask to change positions I'm told no.

Also give us an option to force a trade to another team. If I get traded to a team I don't like, or have played on multiple times before, give me the option to force a trade. Maybe if you ask 3 times, the team gets frustrated and trades you. It's annoying to be stuck on a horrible team with no chance of getting out.

Finally, after the first year of RTTS give a non-roster invite to Spring Training. Give us a chance to compete for a bench spot in the show, instead of automatically being sent to AAA.

I actually like this. While it might not be an RPG, isn't Road to the Show somewhat of an RPG. You playing the role of a baseball player, and these ideas are things that baseball players go through in their careers.

I enjoy immersion, and having your player deal with outside forces, like the media, a home, money, and everyday life would allow one to feel connected to their player. Instead of just trying to win meaningless MVP awards, you can decide what type of person your player will be. It's a great idea.

I think one should be able to turn off trades. Some people out there want to play for their favorite team, but the CPU has a habit of trading them.

As was previously stated, money need to mean more. What's a 10 year deal worth $200m if we can never do anything with it. I'm not saying my PS3 should print money, but we should be able to do something with it in the game.

I wish advancement goals could be eliminated. I want to progress based on my stats. If I'm hitting .350 with 20 homers, but I'm not hitting my goals to advance my bunting attributes, that shouldn't matter.

It would also be neat if you could be a team leader. If your an all-star and an MVP, you should be able to interact, not just with the manager, but with the team. Do you think BJ Upton is lazy, tell him.

Just some ideas

Re: Road to the Show Improvement Ideas

Instead of starting in high school baseball I would prefer the ability to start in the Arizona fall league the way most or at least the high picks do. For example for MLB 12 the game could act like your player got drafted in '11 and send you there when it starts instead of starting in AA. It wouldn't even matter if all the players and teams were fictional or not but the ability to customize the teams would be cool if the license is not cost efficient. Anyways, A potential players who dominate that league the way probably most people play the game would then be sent to spring training the following year with a chance to make the majors right away in '12 as the best of the best sometimes do. It would both satisfy those who want to spend as little time in the minors as possible and add a layer of realism.

Re: Road to the Show Improvement Ideas

I'd like it if the contracts actually meant something. In NBA 2k12 for instance, you can purchase skill upgrades, new animations, etc with the money you get from your contract. Money actually has meaning. RTTS would be much better if making 10 million a year made a difference from making 500k a year.

Also, I'd like more personalization. In NBA 2k12, there are magazine covers, pre-made commercials featuring your in-game character, press conferences. All of that really adds to the realism and makes you enthralled in your character. Sometimes when playing RTTS, it just feels lifeless. I want to be my guy, but with the lack of options, it can hinder the experience.
