The issue is that the Vita w/o a patch is not really compatible with the patched PS3 version. So if you were attempting cloud saves you're basically switching between a pre and post patch save file which causes the schedule issues and freezes.
If you want to delete the patch and just continue an old franchise or not worry about the schedule issue......You lose the internet connectivity, so you can not use the cloud save anymore.
So you're pretty much screwed...theoretically you could just try to play, but odds are even if it is working, at some point it could get screwy and become corrupt/freeze, so personally there's not a point to doing that.

Funny someone mentioned the commercial.......Seeing it drives me crazy as well.
Every time I see "Game Changer" I picture it saying "Game Breaker" and expect the commercial to freeze and then say "Now play nowhere".
It sucks because I was having a good experience on the Vita, so I was able to play my Franchise on both.......and this literally was the selling point for the Vita to me. The only game I currently own and the reason I bought it, so trading it in and just playing on the PS3 doesn't seem like the best option for me.

Yeah, I had to work myself up just to buy a Vita, and this game was the reason why, as I figured I could finally get through multiple years in Franchise thanks to the cross-platform ability.

It's not like SCEA to leave us in the dark like this. The issue is that they are having to cross-check 2 platforms and they only have 1 development team, so I'd imagine they are really combing through the code and figuring out a way to get this to work.

Heck, I'd be happy if they just removed that PS3 patch and just let us play the game as is on both platforms. I'd much rather deal with incorrect start times than game freezes.

Re: Vita Patch?

It does seem unlike them to drop the ball on this. Why wouldn't they just release a Vita patch with an updated schedule that matches PS3? I guess the problems run deeper than just the schedule.

If that's the case, why release the patch in the first place if they knew it would mess up Cloud saves?

Seems like the Vita folks are really getting screwed on this one.

My guess is they had a Vita patch ready to go, found out about the PS3 issues and then scrapped it. So, they are now working (hopefully) on a solution to the PS3 issues and cross-checking that with the Vita patch to make sure issues like games freezing after Cloud Saves don't happen again.

They released the patch b/c they didn't think the Cloud Saves would be affected. It caught them by surprise, although that is a little surprising to me, seeing as though within minutes of the patch being released, members here were already complaining about freeze issues.

Re: Vita Patch?

I'd be happy with a roll back to v1.05 too and just call it a day. I'm going to wait out this week and if nothing happens by the time MK comes out I'm trading it in.

As I've said before, it's the silence that is killing us. I know 100% for a fact that if Russell, Lorne, Woodweaver or one of the developers popped in here, dropped us a note and said 'we are looking into issues with Cloud Saves and are working to resolve the matter' that I'd exercise a little more patience.

All this speculating is annoying. I don't blame anyone for it, nor do I blame anyone for bailing on a game that has failed to deliver on one of its main selling points.

I really hope this doesn't turn into an NCAA Basketball 10 situation where we are just ignored.

The problem with a rollback to v1.05 is you are going to mess up those that have started a new franchise on PS3.

They really got a mess on their hands when they changed that schedule.

I wouldn't, since now I've started a Franchise with the correct start times. There would be just as many pissed off people who waited for the patch to drop (like me), as there currently are people who didn't wait and already started.

Ultimately, this just should have been tested better before release. Honestly, considering the big fix was start times, this shouldn't have been an issue to begin since that was already a problem they fixed two years ago.

It is what it is though, and every company, even the good ones, make mistakes now and then... this year was SCEA's turn to make a big goof. It's just unfortunate that it's dealing with such an openly advertised feature.
