Re: What Does MLB 13 The Show Need to do Next Year to Satisfy Your Baseball Gaming Ne

A few on my checklist. Some a little too ambitious, others achievable.

- Generic The Show hats on free agents should go. It looks tacky. Leave their previous team's hat on.

- Break pitching motions down into windups and stretch motions. If a starter goes from the rotation to the pen, they usually pitch from the stretch. There's no reason to edit him with somebody else's motion when they already have their motion from the stretch in the game.

- Seperate batting stances for switch hitters.

- 3 team deals.

- Sending cash considerations in trades or players to be named later.

- Incentive based deals.

- New commentary crew.

- Some sort of Expansion team mode would be incredible. I realize that's something that probably wouldn't be able to be included (at least to it's full potential) this late in the game.

- International markets.

- Including World Baseball Classic every 4 years in Dynasty Mode and risking your player getting hurt OR your player getting a morale boost from a hot tournament.

- Signing retired players as managers or coaches. (ala Mike Matheny, Sandy Alomar Jr., Jason Giambi, etc.)

- General Manager contracts (similar to NCAA Dynasty Mode's coaches contract). Examples would include an owner demanding you sign a big name free agent or demanding you cut payroll to an incredibly low number. Defeating rivals, reaching a win total, re-signing your owner's favorite guy, etc.

- Trading managers

- Some sort of MLB.com or MLB.TV integration. MLB.com top 100 prospects or MLB.com articles on how they think this prospect might just make the club out of spring training, etc.

----

One last thing is an MLB The Show store to purchase extra uniforms, extra accessary items, more RTTS points, etc. In RTTS there is no reason to sign a lucrative deal with a team you don't like. Money means nothing because you can't spend it. I'd like to see the pay you receive in RTTS be used for something so there's incentive to take a big deal from a poor team over just going to whatever team you want regardless of the contract.

1- create a stadium
2- commentary
3- rainouts-so doubleheaders would occur
4- minor league lisc. so we can have ALL real minor league players even though Knight and Crew do an amazing job every yr!
5- some way to make games go by faster

They need to add a shot of the home team taking the field at the very beginning of the game. Starting the game with the team already on the field always felt off to me.

Also, add more anger animations for bad calls.

Import Franchises and RTTS from one year to the other!
Example: Franchise from MLB 12 imports/continues to MLB 13

Unfortunately there is no such thing as a minor league license, MiLB players aren't unionized so SCEA would have to negotiate with every single player to add their likeness to the game... Now if SCEA added every player on the 40-man roster, that would alleviate the problem somewhat.

Straight from the MLBPA faq:

Quote:
Q: Who is eligible for membership in the Association? A: All players, managers, coaches and trainers who hold a signed contract with a Major League club are eligible for membership in the Association. In collective bargaining, the Association represents around 1,200 players, or the number of players on each club's 40-man roster, in addition to any players on the disabled list.

Here's mine...
  • Rainouts ( Instead of playing in the rain)
  • Fans catching and picking up ball when they pass by ( Not falling over the railing)
  • Playoff mode
  • You can trade for money
  • Better minor league players
  • Also, updated batting stances two times a month

I remember MLB 2k8 had a baseball card type thing. Maybe take the collections in DD and tie it in to somehting like that. that would be very neat.
