The Cubs are maybe not exactly what you're looking for, but I can tell you, it has been quite a challenge trying to win with them and keep cash flowing. In real life, Wrigley is pretty much sold out no matter what is happening on the field; in the game, though, as the season goes on and your record gets worse, you're forced to drive all of your prices down almost to rock bottom just to get anyone to come to the stadium, makes for a very challenging task to not run out of money. (I have been to Wrigley when the Cubs were in last place; let me tell you, that ticket did NOT cost 10 bucks, and the "barley pop" and brat I ate did NOT set me back 10 bucks total--I think I spent about $100 bucks to see a last place team and drink a flat beer. But the brat was good!)

But yeah, their farm system is pretty good, so I figure a couple tough years then smooth sailing. The White Sox are pretty barren, and the Astros, or the bottom of the AL or NL East (I'm not sure how the Mets are doing what they're doing, but certainly it would be hard to do it with the way their numbers stack up in the Show) would probably be harder challenges.

Haha I find this funny. What about the bullpen? Its only the best in the NL.... Only the best player in the NL...Votto. 8 youngest team in the ML. And injuries have occured this year IRL, they are without two of their best relievers, and have been without Rolen since the middle of May. I could keep going..the Reds are far from the worse team.

I wouldn't bother with either of the Chicago teams. The Cubs don't really have anything to work with and The White Sox have no depth. Indians have the same problem as the White Sox so if you start losing your main guys you are in trouble.

As others have said though Astros are the worst team to use. At least with some other low rated teams they have some young prospects with potential so you can turn them around. You would only use the Astros if you enjoy using really bad teams that will continue to be bad for a long time.

Stop bringing REAL LIFE into this. We are talking about THE SHOW ratings NOT REAL LIFE. The reds are great this year but in THE SHOW, past their starting 8, they are thin.

Yes I know some of the stuff isn't the same as real life, so just think about the show!

Well we can talk about them in the show too if you want. All I'm trying to say is they aren't the worst team in the show either. In THE SHOW they are ranked 12th I believe. Thats pretty far from the worst team. So if they are thin past their starting 8, then the cardinals and phillies belong in there with the reds too.

Re: Who is the worst team play in Franchise Mode

I haven't seen anyone on here mention the Padres; I just played a game against them in late April 2013, and they are god awful (I'm the Cubs, so we're not too much better). I mean, just terrible. I guess they're going with a bunch of young guys who will be good eventually, but it was like playing a AAA team, and not a good one. And of course, I played like a bad AAA team, too, beat them 9-6 with about 11 walks, 4 errors, a couple of passed balls, and 9 relatively weak, flukey extra base hits (except 1 homer for each side) between us. So I'd put the Padres up there as one that might not be too fun a challenge, though someone who knows them better might have a more full perspective. But man, they were just terrible.
