Re: Those get up and yell moments...

Yesterday, playing the rubber match of a 3-game series against the Rangers in Arlington with my Yankees.

I am playing on All-Star so I have an affinity of blaming the game/developers whenever I have a big lead and for SOME reason the AI starts reaching base on slow dribblers and chased breaking balls way out of the zone and racking up unfathomable hitting streaks in the 8th or 9th innings after getting 2-3 hits max during the rest of the game (I am still convinced that there are at least a certain amount of events that are "scripted" to increase the difficulty for a short period of time during a game from All-Star difficulty upwards - see game below).

Anyway, I was up 6-2 in the bottom of the 8th. I pulled Nova (7.0 IP, 4H, 2ER, 5K) and brought on Phelps. Then it started.

The Rangers absolutely destroyed me, as they scored 5 runs on a crapload of ridiculous hits/errors/you name it. I think 3 or 4 hits were JUST over the head of my 1B or 3B player to left/right field, just enough to score a single and later on the runs. Then things like my infielders not being able to pick up a slow ground ball started happening. Chavez mishandled a ground ball, Jeter overshot Cano from 2 feet away on a potentially inning-ending double play, the outfielder animations for picking a ball up were SUPER-slow all of a sudden, making 1-2 easy runs possible, etc, etc, etc.

I was fuming, and all of a sudden I was behind 6-7. And OF COURSE, just after the leading run had scored for the Rangers, Hamilton strikes out looking on an 0-2 fastball right down the middle. Yeah, right. What are the odds.

Top of the 9th and I had the top of the order up with Gardner, Jeter and Grandy.

Gardner and Jeter both lined out and just when I was about to ragequit I worked a walk with Granderson, stole 2nd and moved to 3rd on a single by Cano. And then came Swisher.

2 outs, 3-2 count and he blasts a towering 3-run homer to straight centerfield to give me the lead. I fistpumped so hard and so many times my arm hurts today

I hung on for the win, although Robertson gave up a run before closing it out for the 9-8 win in the bottom of the 9th.

I get up and yell basically every home run I hit. Playing as the M's it is a very rare occurrence.

This! ^ I'm not saying there is any comeback code or any scripted events. But my God, does this happen all the time, lol and it drives me crazy.

^That seems to happen alot. The AI plays like a little kid, whose just like "Let me score ___ runs so I can tie up the game,or even lead by 1, then I'll get out for the rest of the inning".

When it happens to me, they normally go up 6.....

...I think it's time to consider that just I suck at the game.

Re: Those get up and yell moments...

I thought you meant, you were losing by a score of 6-7(meaning you had 6,they had 7)

Pitching difficulty is one thing I don't get. Cause when I play on veteran, my guy seems to be able to hit his location so much, but he also gives up a fair amount of runs. So don't know if increasing difficulty will make a big difference or what, and if it did, how i'd fix that.

The thing that angers me is how every shortstop is able to make Troy Tulowitzki-like throws (field the ball, turn around, jump and throw a laser to 1st). It's maddening.

Those moments when you check swing and the umps calk you. But the AI check swings worse and gets a safe call.
