X is regular, and O is contact.

Yeah, this is pretty much what I've seen. My only issue is that I'll pretty much never hit a home run with two strikes if I'm using contact swing (unless the count is 3-2, since I revert to normal swing). I've also noticed that I quite honestly have similar success with the normal swing compared to the contact swing, so I've been thinking about only using the contact swing when I HAVE to make contact. I may K just a bit more, but it keeps the HR possibility alive.

Re: Contact Swing Home Runs

I have yet to hit one with contact swing yet this year, and have only hit one with power swing. And it was just last night with Jason Heyward on a 3-1 2SFB off Cliff Lee. This is through roughly about 40 or so games.

However I have yet to play with Emilio Bonifacio and he had pretty much all my contact swing HRs last year.

Oh and IDC what anyone says, hitting a HR with normal swing is great and all. But there's nothing like that feeling you get when your sitting dead red and actually launch one with the power swing!!

That's how I hit most of my homers.

Good for you man I mostly get hard rips for doubles or like mile high flyouts with it LOL. However they just fly out with the normal one.

Re: Contact Swing Home Runs

I hit an HR today with Carlos Quentin using contact swing. I'm playing All Star - Timing.

I was kinda surprised though, I was just using the contact button because I wanted him to hit one in the air because I had a man on third with one out... trying for the sac fly, but it went out to straightaway left...

An addition question real quick, is hit influence still in the game this year? For example, if I push up on the right stick prior to swinging, does it still influence a fly ball swing?

Yes, there is. The location where you hit the ball still has influence, though. I've influenced a fly ball and still grounded out when I hit the top of the ball.
