Technically VC isn't required to advance through modes in NBA 2K14...

I'm hoping they aren't being misleading with this line, but it wouldn't be the first time that a company used vagueness to temporarily dispel concern over something.

Hopefully stubs will be used to buy experience points that can be earned through regular play (in regards to RTTS) as opposed to the 2K model where you use VC for everything (forcing you to slowly accumulate it through play or purchase it).

The distinction may not seem like much but by making VC the currency for which everything is purchased they have to limit the ease at which it is earned because then it would affect the money-earning possibilities for certain modes, but this directly hurts the ability to progress in non-money making modes.

My question is do they know what day in May and are keeping that a secret for now? Or do they currently not know when in May?

I'm interested in the Quick Counts feature, I played the crap out of this game on Vita because I could do so while watching TV, but did not do as much on the PS3 because of the time factor. I mainly focused on RTTS on the console (quicker games even as a Pitcher), and franchise on my Vita. How are they going to speed the games up?

Yeah, I wasn't wondering about that part, I was wondering how similar the features in Online Franchise are vs. offline Franchise. Like what things would I miss out on if I did an Online Franchise by myself versus doing a regular offline Franchise by myself.

That's a good point, as long as VC is not the only way to do certain things I am fine with it. Like adjusting rotations or lineups

Since the wording apparently wasn't sufficient enough let me make this crystal. The inclusion of Stubs (Universal Currency) has in no way shaped our modes or how we approach development. From the very first discussions of Add-ons in The Show (years ago), the inclusion has never steered the development or the evolution of our game modes.

We are consolidating individual buys into a Universal Currency (Stubs) so users, who choose to invest in Add-on content, can buy general amounts of currency and spend it in any mode (not having to choose where to invest). As always, Add-ons are a way of accelerating and buy time, of sorts. They have been latched onto modes, not even remotely integral to them. Not one red cent needs to be spent on Add-ons for users to enjoy a full experience in any of our modes! If you didn't spend a dime of real money last year you won't have to spend one this year.

What’s more, Stubs are earned through general gameplay (similar to X), tied to your Universal Profile. And we honestly believe the rate that Stubs are earned allow for sufficient currency to accelerate any mode you chose to play in.

I don't know sorry but I am curious if there was attention to the patterns. I am hoping one day we could design our own and have them in game. It really has become an art in MLB.
