I think you're being unrealistic as to what his contact skills actually are at this point of his career.

no holes in his swing but he has a 33% K rate?!?!?

I'm having the same conundrum with Dan Vogelbach on the M's. Clearly needs a rating boost

After 50 PAs? I'm not sure. He's tearing it up though.

Here is what we have for him:
Contract vs Righties 68
Contact vs Lefties 42
Power vs Righties 69
Power vs Lefties 29
Vision 58
Discipline 80
Batting Clutch 52

If you want to use scouting grades his raw power is 80 and his game power is CV 55 and FV 65 which means he's somewhere between a 1/2 standard deviation and 1.5 standard deviations better than average on the power front. In show terms that would put him somewhere around 65 Power vs R and 69 Power vs L.
This isn't really a Mets fan thing. Mets fans happen to one of the smarter fan bases in the game. There's always going to be fans that know less than others though.

Same goes for Cubs fans or any other fanbase. I saw Cubs fans saying Kyle Schwarber was better than Michael Conforto a few years ago (They were drafted a few spots apart so the comparisons were natural). Those fans were obviously wrong.

What should pete alonso’s power ratings really be?

Well here’s some current attribute updates on Pete Alonso, from daddyleagues. The top card is the same attributes as the default Sony update from yesterday, & the bottom card, is the diamond dynasty, which In my opinion if he breaks out, is his potential ratings, depending on each person’s point of view. I’ve used the potential all-star card of Dominic Smith as his attributes, for Dom, since he’s been clutch so far this yr, & mostly for contact rates, since I’m using the mavs pitches edition roster. The reason, I’m also using these attributes for Dom Smith from his futures card, is because of his potential and also he’s looked like he’s in better shape this year, including his potential value, but w the mavs pitches edit and depending on the sliders people choose, it’s still a challenge, especially w the various movement of pitches and the speed differentials.IMG_6475.jpgIMG_6476.jpgIMG_6480.jpg
