S & B's Directional/Classic, Dynamic/Legend sliders

Hello everyone,

A long time here at OS using sliders, posting my own since 2008. I don't always post sliders but always have a set of my own I'm using for many sports titles. Although NHL and MLB have been lately the only two sports games I've really enjoyed for a good 3 or 4 years now.

Want to also give props, shout out, and my thanks to bryanm1982 for all the work and help to testing things out with me and really a big part of where these sliders are at.

It is never just one person creating any of the sliders you see imo. We all work together to create the best experiences in sports gaming possible within all different skill levels and variety of ways to play this truly fantastic MLB game. Lastly, we do play with quick counts on but the sliders will work just fine WITHOUT quick counts. If any pitching slider is different for not using quick counts it will be noted.

Hitting difficulty- Dynamic for 30-35 games minimum with sensitivity slider higher between 8-10. I recommend starting a test franchise and play random games throughout the calendar with different teams. Simulate the pitching and hit only so you can get through those 30-35 games faster.

Note where you sit around for majority of the time and lock that in! For Bryan and I both it's AS/AS+

Hitting interface- Directional
Guess pitch- Off
Baserunning- Auto

Pitching difficulty- Legend

Pitching interface- Classic
Pitch confidence- On
API- Personal preference

Fielding:

Throwing interface- Buttons
Throwing meter- Off

General:

Gameplay style- Simulation
Fielding aids- Off
Strike zone- Off
Hot zones- Off
Wind- On
Dynamic difficulty updates- Progress
Balks- Off

Umpire accuracy-Personalized, Average, and Perfect. Mix it up! Gives us more "Umps" this way.

SLIDER SETTINGS:

*** = most recent changes
** = second most recent changes
* = third most recent changes

(User/Cpu slider settings):

Contact- 5/3

Power- 4/3

Timing- 5/5
Foul frequency- 0/0

Solid hits- 4/3...cpu at 4 if you feel you need more offense from them.

SP stamina- 8/7 (5 for simulated games)
RP stamina- 8/8 (1 for simulated games)
Pitcher control- 0/5
Pitcher consistency- 3/2
Strike frequency- 5
Cpu manager hook- 2 until SP is removed. Then 10 for RP. I've tested 3 and saw the cpu remove starter before allowing them to attempt to start the 5th for a win many times.
Cpu pickoffs- 0 but this is a personal preference. How often do you want to see it?
Fastball pitch speed- Personal preference

Fielding/Baserunning sliders: Anything speed related is same thing as slowing down game speed for any other sports game. It's just the way to do so in a baseball game.

Infield errors- 8
Outfield errors- 6
Throwing errors infield- 5
Throwing errors outfield- 0
Fielder run speed- 1***
Fielder reaction- 1***
Arm strength IF- 0
Arm strength OF- 7
Baserunner speed- 1
Steal ability- 6
Steal frequency- 4
Wind- 2

Injury frequency- This has three separate settings.

Simulated MLB games- 7. A more realistic amount of injuries around the league.

~Played games- 10

~Simulated AAA/AA games- 0-2 (User preference). I set to 0 personally so there are enough decent players healthy to call up and down when needed. And believe it or not injuries still occur at times with their really low durability attributes in the minors.

~~ For AI controlled teams I do manage their MLB injuries. I let them decide if they want to place on IL or not, then I decide if they need to call up a guy or not. Since I do this, this is another reason I put injury slider to 0 for minor league games. This keeps me more immersed into my franchise. And just not big enough roster to deal with tons of injuries in the minors.

What difficulty do you usually range around for hitting and pitching?

For hitting I fluctuate between Veteran+ to Allstar usually. Sometimes I'll jump up to Allstar+ but it seems to not last very long. Hitting in general is harder this year if you use directional hitting.

For pitching I'm between Hof and Legend. I'll get up to Legend+ every so often. Currently it's on legend and I feel like it's going to stick around that HOF+ to Legend for the most part.

Latest game played inside my franchise. I was the Yankees. Very fun game with me holding on in the end with some key pitching at the end with the Rays threatening late. 20210528_225738.jpeg

re: S & B's Directional/Classic, Dynamic/Legend sliders

#2 posted updated with latest sliders. Only change were RP stamina raised, and IF Arm strength lowered.

RP stamina up may seem odd, but over the course of a long season if it is at default you'll have multiple teams where nearly their entire bullpen has low energy. Raising it a tad will allow for you to use a RP back to back days if needed. And over a long season it works out for the best.

Here's a couple photos of last two games played in franchise. Both were walk off wins with one reaching 11 innings.

For anyone who is curious, using dynamic I've pretty much stuck on Legend for pitching overall. I'll touch Legend+ for a about 7ab max lol. I'm sure I'll drop to HOF+ again at some point but it's usually not for too long before I'm back up to Legend. Hard to imagine ever dropping below HOF again.

And for hitting straight Allstar is where I seem to be majority of the time. Vet+ for a bit for hitting and then Allstar for a while. If I reach Allstar+ I don't seem to keep it long. Same with Veteran. If I slump that much over a few games and drop that low, I don't keep it long. Never reached HOF hitting yet and probably won't.

Loving the variety of games I'm getting!

I always use quick counts. Played my first game with your sliders, and I like them a lot. Good job!
