Pat Venditte

I dont guess now you can even create a pitcher that throws with both hands

not that the landscape was littered with guys like him before he got to the Show

Ah, I remember the year that this was touted as one of the "Major changes" in the game. I still get a kick out of the "Amphibious Pitcher Makes Debut" article from Venditte's A's days.

Of "modern" players (i.e. players who were current-day when last in the game):

Scooter Gennett (won a Triple Crown with him one franchise season)
JJ Hardy
Matt Wieters
Adrian Beltre

Former legends:
Yogi Berra
Luis Tiant
Albert Belle
Mike Scott
Will Clark

I ran through some legends lists for MLBTS 18 and saw Garvey. Not a personal fav, but totally get it - very good player.

(I actually think the legend list from past games in the series was more interesting than what we have now in 22 - which is too top-heavy with "legends" from the 2000s for my tastes).

I agree. Would like to see some more mid tier players from the past. Every team has a list of fan favourites that will never get a sniff of the HOF but have that one memorable moment/ clutch performance that fans love.

I’ll always remember John MacDonald hitting a HR on Father’s Day just after his father passed away.

Johnny Mac will always be one of my favourites. I actually hit double digit HR’s with him one year.

yeah, I didnt like most Dodgers when the Braves were in the old NL west, but once Garvey became a Padre, I could appreciate him a lot more, being a preview endurance-wise (in LA) to what we would see later from Ripken.

plus that whole 84 Padre tleam was fun, just ran into a buzzsaw in Detroit

Re: Who do you miss from past Shows?

For me, it's one thing. I miss being able to buy franchise budget with stubs. It gave us franchise only players a reason to use our stubs after we bought sponsorships.

Sponsorships are nice and give a decent boost, but only with stubs could I get an 80M increase in my budget. It made Cleveland feel like a big market team.
