Strange I downloaded the PS5 version but I could swear it looks like I am playing the PS4 version on my PS5!

Just to confirm it, no pickoff attempt limit in offline play (or options explorer, at least)

Default Legend with Zone Hitting and Meter Pitching - Simulation

In the first game (Astros) I played, there were a total combined 20 strikeouts in the game (10 per team) and 5 combined walks (PHI 2 - HOU 3). Final was 3-0 in favor of the Phillies. Rhys Hoskins hit a two run homerun and then Schwarber doubled home a run in the 9th.

In the second game (Phillies) there were a total of 18 strikeouts (11 by HOU - 7 by PHI) and 4 combined walks (3 for HOU - 1 for PHI). Final was 5-3 in favor of the Astros as Yordan Alvarez hit a 3 run bomb in the 9th to walk it off. I scored 3 runs in the 5th when Trea Turner hit a bases clearing triple on a ball in the gap.

I do appreciate the increased (slightly) swings and misses but do want to be cautious of the number of total strikeouts. Granted both games featured Wheeler vs Valdez, but still 38 strikeouts combined in 2 games raises an eyebrow.

The new baserunning windows take a moment to get used to, but give a better view of the runners lead.

The crowd is fun to listen to and their chatter. I honestly couldn't tell you if this is better, worse or same as '22 as I'm always playing with commentary on, but its entertaining right now.

There are new animations to be seen and there does seem to be a sense of urgency amongst the fielders when required.

I'm going to at some point (even though I played it last night) going to play a game of '22 and just see if I can feel the differences now that I've gotten a few innings under my belt with '23. With '22 (BETA) vs '21 the gameplay differences really stood out, but this year not so much thus far.

If all things were equal I would say yes, but the players used in the Options Explorer (full exhibition games) have DD attributes so you'll have guys with attributes that rate over 100.

Still, I don't think the differences will be so drastic that you couldn't get a really good feel for where sliders need to be at launch.

Thanks, bud.

What stadium choices do we have in beta for full games? I want to say last year we had 4.

Re: MLB The Show 23 Technical Test Starts on February 15

This is kind of nice:

There's a new option called "Pitch Select Displays" that allows you to show either detailed pitch info or the batter's ratings when holding down R button pre-pitch (it's zR for Switch). There's one for the batter's side as well to show pitch types, though note that in offline play the pitcher will deliver as soon as you let the button go.

disappointed that they didn't remove the auxiliary scoreboards in Yankee Stadium and replace them with Video boards.
