I've noticed a lack of ground balls as well. The few grounders are always lazy grounders right at infielders.

Hit variability seems to have been replaced with oppo foul balls caught right before the wall and fly balls to CF.

Re: Has something changed in hitting?

Totally agree with this. Something has changed. Prior to the patch I was hitting the ball fine now it just doesn’t go anywhere. 100+ power guys hitting perfect/perfect shots that are routine fly outs. It’s like hitting a water-logged softball. I play a lot of games vs. CPU on Rookie vs. Rockies at Coors Field to grind PXP. Was scoring 12-15 runs a game (down from 20+ last year BTW) and now I get 6-8. If I hit one HR a game it’s a miracle.

Something has happened. I’m so glad this was brought up. Been driving me crazy for the last two days.

Nothing has changed. Franchise has hot streaks, cold streaks, and slumps included by design. You’ll lose 5 or 6 in a row, and then score 18 in a game out of nowhere. I’ve never done a franchise that I haven’t lost 5 in a row a few different times through the season.

Re: Has something changed in hitting?

I been hitting bad in my past few games but I don’t think it’s from the game update. I’m not good at playing this game but I have learned over the years that some games I hit really well (scoring close to 10 runs a game) and other games I can barely score a run

I just knocked Logan Webb out of the game with with 5 runs, 9 hits in 4 innings and I haven't touched a setting or a slider in a long time. So the hitting seems fine to me. You're probably just seeing the ebbs and flows of how the game is designed. No need to change anything.

Re: Has something changed in hitting?

Funny how this works. Prior to this most recent patch the CPU was so weak, non competitive, my hitting was foul ball x 6, 7, 8…K. Foul ball outs. It was so predictable I almost gave up. Reported it to SDS. Patch was released and SHAZAM I got my butt kicked. Far less foul balls from me, balls put in play, etc., etc. Game is amazing now.

Now the guys who could hit BEFORE the patch are experiencing what I experienced before the patch and I’m not experiencing now.

Go figure.

Nope…I just suck right now. My left thumb to eye coordination is off. I won the World Series in ‘22 with the Rockies on Hall of Fame difficulty in Franchise. I’ll be back to beast mode soon!

I hope you're right. The problem is, this ebb really reduces my desire to even play the game, which will make the problem worse as my timing will get "rusty".

I take my time when I play franchise games and one usually takes me 45-60 minutes, so going through a game where I win 1-0 with a sac fly in the top of the 9th after scoring 3 runs over the past three, doesn't feel like a good use of my time. I guess that's just the double edge sword of playing sports games.
