I was just about to create a new thread but I saw this was active again so figured I would ask here.

But I myself have been having issues scoring runs in this game for the past 2 or so weeks. I can get the hits, averaging 10 a game it seems but I can’t score runs. I been losing my games 1-2 or 1-3 or 2-4. Pitching has been great for me. And like I said I can get hits and runners on bases but I just keep getting then pop outs or giving up double plays.

I use PCI for hitting, maybe I need to change it idk. I’m getting good hits and some the PCI is in a good spot but yeah I just can’t get anything

This is me 100% lol. I haven't played a new game since the most recent patch. But patch 7 messed me up lol

Nothing changed for me for hitting. My guys that were slumping are now coming out if it. My guys that were on fire are now going through a cold spell. Feels the same as it did prior.

To what extent does everyone use power, normal or contact swings?

I’ve always felt like the Show is tuned for you to use power swings with power hitters up in the count and contact swings when you’re down in the count.

0-0, 1-0, 0-1, 2-1,1-1, 3-2 Normal

0-2, 1-2, 2-2 Contact

2-0, 3-1, 3-0 Power

I’ve always felt like the Show is tuned for you to use power swings with power hitters up in the count and contact swings when you’re down in the count.

I never use power. I primarily use normal. I used to use contact when down in the count, but now, I only use it now very situationally. For example, if I have a runner only on third, and down in the count. I try to avoid it if I have a runner on first, as I feel it frequently can result in a double play.

I never use power swing. Normal swing most of the time. Contact swing when down in the count 0-2, 1-2 in order to foul off some close pitches, especially with guys with a low contact attribute.

I don’t think I’ve attempted a power swing in about 10 years.

Never use power, just go up there and hit A-Xbox or when I has a PS the X button.

I use directional with influence turned off as I feel it's kind of unrealistic to use it...I guess to best simulate what I feel a real batter would do I try to time my swing either late to push or early to pull...using this method it best replicates (imo) what a real batter would do.

As far as changes in hitting? from what I have witnessed absolutely nothing has changed.

I rarely power swing, but when I do I'll do it with my lower power/contact guys because sometimes that slow grounder is hit with enough power to squeeze thru the infield. Or maybe a ball drops just beyond the infield for a hit, etc.

It leads to swings and misses and ground balls for those guys much more often than anything else, but I get a hit just often enough to entertain the idea for a second.

I don’t think I’ve attempted a power swing in about 10 years.

Lol….i remember it working one time and the name of that player was Matt Treanor for Texas back in 2010. Weird things you remember.

Hitting hasn't changed at all. it's completely the same, I haven't had any issues.

It broke several patches ago. It's better now. Finally.

Only think wrong with hitting is allowing the duck hunt strike zone cameras for online play. Take them out or give us an option to only play with certain camera views. That would be best. DD would be fun if they made this little change.
