In reality the most popular demand on the show games is DD, it makes them the most money

It's not franchise , it's not female players, it's DD. That has been the big money maker for a while.

Everyone complaining about wasted resources but go look at franchise from MLB 17. Most of it is the same as now outside of some ways to not play the game faster and the draft scouting. I've stuck around year to year because of the gameplay but at this point, play MLB 23 or 22 and get 99% of the same experience.

All of this is to try and get more DD players. But them adding women isn't why they didn't work on franchise. They've barely worked on it for years at this point

Of course they want more DD players. I don't think anyone would deny that but what does adding females have anything to do with that? They added females to RTTS and the RTTS Ballplayer has now been decoupled from DD so it should have no impact on DD.

You are 100% right. I do not believe that resources are being taken from Franchise. I think either two things are happening. First being they put very little resources as it is into franchise, Or Second, they are working on a HUGE franchise revamp that will be out in the next 2 or 3 years and we will all look back feeling like dopes because they had people working on franchise for a long time behind the scenes

Nice answer. I just can't stop smiling about comments on how they don't do this, don't do that, should do this, should do that. 24 is already in the books (minor tweaking and adjustments) and wouldn't be surprised if 25 is pretty much setup to a certain degree.

I've been in a management role since 3 years now, and lately in an senior advisor role. Yes, we take care about what people "outside" are saying, but our senior managers have their views, their targets, their plans.

To be honest, now approaching 50, I understand things I wasn't 25 years ago. What SDS is doing with The Show makes sense from my point of view.

SDS isn't different. The MLBTS teams are working toward the agenda, and bottom line is that they have to makes the game sell all year long before next installment.

They're not that bad at doing so...;-)

Toni Stone at the very least will very likely have a card in DD.

Wouldn't be at all surprised for them to do a League of their Own storylines mode at some point too. Kinda surprised MLB hasn't already done a League of their Own game in the vein of Field of Dreams.

I feel like if they expand this into a storylines mode it won't be so much A League Of Their Own as much as it would be an effort to re-tell and educate fans on the real league the movie / show are based on.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/All-...aseball_League

I mentioned the Fort Wayne Daisies earlier in the thread, they were one of the longer running teams in the league. The last couple of years the TinCaps have gone to great effort to finally honor this important history to the city and baseball as a whole, and many of the women who played on that team are still with us and have been at the games, etc. It's a cool thing.

These games are routinely sell outs and a big hit for the team, one of the anecdotal reasons I think this has broader appeal than a lot of you think.

I suspect that's where this whole thing is going, which is pretty rad.

I think SDS missed the boat on how to implement this and broaden the game at the same time. I know someone mentioned the WW2 era womens leagues but that should have been there avenue they introduced it and I will tell you why.

It could have created the framework for an Eras type experience where rosters from different decades are introduced for play of historical seasons. It would have used dev time effectively and by doing this and offering players something different to look forward to.
