Even if PlayStation adds back music files, I wonder if they will be forced to keep the playstation and xbox versions the same. I seem to recall something about " feature parity".

The specific thing was Sony and Microsoft removed the ability to add music files to the console. You can only play music via apps. PS5 Pro tech has nothing to do with it since they are pushing the use of apps going forward.

Ideally SDS, 2k, and EA can partner up with Spotify/Apple Music/other services to allow people to log-in and pick X amount of songs to use for a feature like SOTS. Not sure how difficult that would be to code in since your calling to an outside service for audio, but it would probably be the best way to get it back into the game.
