How to play a friend online?

I'm inviting my friend with the TouchPad and he's not able to see my challenge and vice versa. Anyone else having this issue?

The challenge feature doesn't seem to work right now unless you enter a game room first.

Get you and your buddy inside the same game room (easier said than done), and you should be able to accept challenges from there.

Home Run Derby is also working right now without issue.

The rooms are usually full. It works every once in a while. Pretty frustrating.
