Re: What's the difference between the resoultion?

1080i is worse than 720p. I dont know why never really understood the explanation but it does look worse.

Quote:
1080i video plays back at 60 frames per second, but that's a bit deceptive, because it's actually broadcast at 30 frames per second. The TV then displays those frames twice, in a way—the first pass is 1,920-by-540 for the even scan line field, and the second pass is 1,920-by-540 for the odd scan line field. The process by which this occurs is called interlacing. It contributes to a sense of motion and reduces perceived flicker.
So really you are just getting 540p twice i believe.

It's a good explanation.

OP, I assume your TV also supports 720p. I'd use that instead for the Show. It's best for action type games (sports).

Will 720p cause input delay? I'm playing in 1080i and there's no delay at all.

Re: What's the difference between the resoultion?

Depends on the TV most likely. ESPN and other sport networks have always used 720p. I suspect they still do unless they up it to 1080p but I'm not sure if they have.

Ok, I only ask because I remember the first time I played on an HDTV. It was Halo 3. The input lag was AWFUL!

Needless to say, I ended up (literally) breaking my controller. After that game, I discovered that I could display Xbox 360 games in a resolution, like 1024x628, like on a computer. No input lag, and everything was great.

Now, with PS4, I was concerned about input delay, because they don't offer any option to display in resolutions like the 360 does. So, I set it on 1080i, and no delay (thankfully!).

I'm not sure if the game looks any better or worse, but I'd gladly trade a slight graphical enhancement for a better response time.
