RTTS first contract offer too low after a lot of success?

Ok so I started off my 18 year old 3rd baseman in AA and used my 30k in stubs from preordering from gamestop to build a monster. Anyway, I bated .295 with 20 HRs and 80 RBI's and that's just in the MLB I was only in AA for two months. Started in the Marlins system got called up, traded to the Dodgers upon request. Won World Series MVP. Get a contract offer for 1yr 500k. Does this seem low? I can negotiate but I don't want to go too high on the Dodgers as I know my player is still 18, 19 now entering the offseason. What do you think?

They can renew your contract for like 80k if they want. They own your *** for 6 years lol.

I'm guessing the contract offer says AAA Starter or AAA Bench too, rather than MLB starter.

I had a monster first year winning rookie of the year with about 16 HRs after getting the call immediately after all-star break. I was also offered 500k but negotiated to about 530k

The 500K seems pretty fair. Maybe a little low. But you just played your first MLB season it isn't likely that you will get a multi million dollar year for the first two years you are in the majors. After that maybe you can negotiate a long term, big dollar contract.

Re: RTTS first contract offer too low after a lot of success?

Is there any meaning to the salary, beyond bragging rights?

I just finished my first year. Someone told me in these forums that it doesn't matter if I accept the contract or not. So what's the point? I don't get it.

Yeah I remember last year or 12 I turned down the contract for fun and they still signed me anyways for that price they offered. May be different after they offer a new contract when it expires.

how i wish they could add more to the contract...like forming or supporting Community help...or just being stupid and egotistic player.....buying expensive stuffs with IRS penalties....or whatever... that could be fun
