Huge trade!

Trade just broke that sent Kimbrel and Upton Jr from the Bravos to the Friars for Maybin and Quentin plus prospects. Crazy stuff.

Re: Huge trade!

Thankfully in time to be included in the SCEA Opening Day roster tomorrow

Moving Kimbrel is the RIGHT thing to do, you dont need an elite closer when you are nowhere near contending.

Whether they got enough back for him?

Debatable, but including Melv Upton did definitely lower the return.

Re: Huge trade!

Just for ****s and giggles, here's what an attempt to trade FOR Kimbrel and Upton looks like in The Show from SD's perspective (remember, this does not guarantee the AI would actually make this trade):

Maine, FWIW, is a fake 19 year old prospect.

Re: Huge trade!

Getting rid of Melvin is addition by subtraction, regardless of the return. I'll admit, as a Braves fan, I'm sad to see Kimbrel go even though I'm aware there's little use for him on a bad team. Players like him don't come very often.

Cutoff day for roster updates is usually Thursday.

Any opinions on who will become the Braves closer?

Re: Huge trade!

Some braves fan said they cleared 45M+ off with these bad contracts

although i would have asked for some decent prospect at least then a aging fielder
