How much time left on contracts?

When you view the contract page in player cards, it shows how much the player is due for each year. Is there a way to tell what current year the player is in?

I haven't been looking at that page often, does it update every year? IE, after each year does it display 1 year less?

Go to manage roster screen. Tells contract years as 1/3 or 2/3 ect.
