Scouting Reports

Does anyone create their own scouting reports? I have been going through the rosters of teams I play and documenting the strengths and weaknesses of the hitters. I look at the contact l/r and power. Then I look at the hot/cold zones. I just started doing this a couple weeks ago and I have only used it once during an online franchise. I was playing as the M's against the A's in Oakland. The first two games this guy lit me up, but the next two I applied my hitter analysis and won 4-1 and 4-2.

I'm wondering if anyone else does anything like this in their games?

Cheers!

Re: Scouting Reports

I've never gone in depth like you guys have, but I have written much more informal scouting reports before. I'd say things like "Has good contact vs righties, struggles vs lefties. Runs well on the basepads, average defense. Will start the season batting second."

It was a good reference, and there was one point where I was doing 3 reports a season (End of spring training, all-star break, end of season). Great to look back on and remember what young guys did during spring training if your considering a call-up or a trade.

It's a useful tool to have and I should start doing it again.
