CPU Defensive Shifts

Has anyone else noticed a lack of defensive shifts by the CPU while you're batting? Anytime I have a left-handed, dead pull hitter up to the plate and I check to see what the defense is doing, they always continue to play straight-up defense.

This is annoying to me because every real team in the majors has heavily moved towards shifting so I think this should be replicated in MLB '15. And also I think it would be fun to try and "beat the shift" with my lefty at the plate.

Re: CPU Defensive Shifts

You really need to give more context here.

Are you seeing this with runners on base or runners not on base?

I've never seen the overshift not used when it's called for without runners on base.

I will agree the game lacks some shading options for defensive shifts with runners on base but I can't say I haven't seen the shifts when it's appropriate.

Re: CPU Defensive Shifts

I've noticed it. My thought was that it's far too easy for a human player to hit the ball the other way or it just doesn't work well enough with the way they pitch you (a real issue in the real game) so they sorta nixed it.

When I'm batting with Rizzo for example they never pull a shift on me when they most definitely should, and I end up getting plenty of doubles against them the other way regardless, so it's actually good that they don't.
