Is the Stride Purely Cosmetic Now?

Just wondering if timing of the Stride is the same as it was when it was removed, where you needed to start your Stride right when the Pitcher began to bring his arm forward?

Or is it more cosmetic now, where as long as you stride before swinging you are good?

I'm wondering because there is no Stride Feedback anymore.

Did you check the PCI size? I thought it shrunk if you did not time your stride correctly.

I'm fairy certain it's cosmetic. I really enjoy using it but I used to be much worse with it. And, as you mentioned, there is no stride feedback and there also is not a stride slider anymore.

Ya I'm almost positive its cosmetic at this point. I was hitting bombs Striding back as soon as I got in the box and waiting 4-5 seconds before actually swinging.

Yah... that said I still enjoy how it feels much more like a swing. Plus I like being able to select type of swing pre pitch.

Ya it's still an improvement over no stride.

I never really liked having to time the stride they way it was implemented anyway. The speed of the pitch throw didnt matter and it was all about timing the pitcher animation, which doesn't really make any sense.

Re: Is the Stride Purely Cosmetic Now?

IIRC the devs have full intention of making stride a functional, purposeful thing... BUT, they also alluded to the fact that it might not be ready on day 1.

So the cosmetic stride is probably just a holdover until they are ready to release it via patch. Way easier (and safer) for them, than simply having no stride at all then patching the entire stride system in all at once.

Assuming OP is right, of course... I haven't played with Analog myself, just relaying what devs said in various streams and stuff.

I'm still puzzled why they removed it completely from last years game.

I'm puzzled because they always made a point to say that they never take control schemes out of the game, they simply add to the game.
