Pitcher confidence

Will a pitchers confidence carry over to his next start for both starters and relievers? Also, i remember in years past a relievers confidence would be displayed when you view your bullpen and im upset that they removed that from the game.

I don't know that it carries over, but it might be impacted by what the pitcher has done recently.

I haven't really tracked it or noticed (largely because the "variable stuff" aspect often drives/influences confidence) but I want to say that I've noticed confidence start lower, especially for relievers, if they come in soon after getting roughed up not long ago.

Not sure for SP - their last outing might be too far away for any carryover effects, but don't quote me on that.

I believe it acts sort of like hot and cold streaks so yes - it does carry over. Maybe not 100% of I have noticed when I have a reliever that has a bad outing his confidence is a bit lower the next time I use him.

One more thing I have noticed is that if you do not used a RP for a 4 or 5 games they are a little flat.

I noticed with my Mariners franchise something. Nate Karns threw a horrible ballgame. Walked 6 batters, hit 3 other batters, gave up 3 home runs. I took him out in the 4th. Well come his next start just about the same thing happened. So yes I believe players carry over game to game.



Honestly it could be that Karns isn't that good.
