Re: Jump Catch anyone?

I've made quite a few jumping, diving and sliding catches. What I've never been able to accomplish are those leaping catches on line drives that cpu infielders always seem to manage. Even when I press the button in time all I seem to get ever is a lame weak effort animation as the ball sails past.

edit: sorry guess I didn't read the post, guess my answer is no

Re: Jump Catch anyone?

Im assuming you dont mean of the home rub robbing variety, because I have a bunch of those, but I can only recall one time where I used jump and actually caught the ball. Doing it with an infielder seems impossible, its always a sluggish and delayed jump after the ball goes by my guy.

Re: Jump Catch anyone?

I've made leaping catches occasionally. Quite a few diving catches. I've only robbed homeruns twice ever in my entire ten year history with The Show.

No not HR robbing, more-so infielders jumping straight up. I've tried jumping while on the run with an OF but to no obliged.
The closest I've gotten was knocking the ball down with an infielder which ended up rolling pretty far away from me.

Re: Jump Catch anyone?

Never a leaping catch by an infielder.

I have made 1 leaping catch in the outfield and I couldn't believe my eyes.

Re: Jump Catch anyone?

I finally have made one this past couple of weeks in the outfield of my RTTS guy in left field. I jumped up and down like we won a huge game lol. Then I did it the next night on that showtime thing but that was a lot easier

Sorry didn't see you meant not robbing a home run. Infield, no. Don't even bother

Yeah, I've made a few out in Right Field at Yankee Stadium, and maybe one somewhere else.

It's mostly luck, but, when the red target indicator at the wall appears, you have to really nail the timing on the leap. I've only done it in RTTS mode.
