is the pitching broken or the hitting? I cant tell

for real,what in the holy hell is happening in this game.. What have they done? I cant tell if the pitching is broken or the hitting. Im throwing pitches outside the strike zone and they are getting bombed out of the park constantly...

Low changeups out of the strikezone into the shoe laces, bombed. High fastballs out of the strike zone and into the hands, bombed. Sliders low and away, bombed. Makes 0 sense whats going on right now.

Last mlb i avged 1.8 era in diamond dynasty. Currently im sitting at like 8... Its insanity... All the pitches are constantly getting bombed, the home run totals are out of control...

And directional hitting seems to be the most broken glitchy thing ever to make it to a sports game... Play 1 handed with 1 finger and hit bombs.... Honestly, you need a hotfix right now to patch this directional hitting up right now or this game can go straight into the trash can.

People are making contact with directional hitting and poor timing non stop, why use anything else? Playing 1 handed with 1 finger or having to use zone hitting and constantly hit pop ups? hmmmmmm hard one here..

It's not pitching. There are two factors to consider. The first is PCI which in MLB 17 is really huge at All Star level ( online default difficult level ) and to a point in which contact ratings doesn't matter at all. In the image linked below it's Chase Utley, 37 vs L. Look at his PCI:




The second one is power. Honestly i think it's an oversight and maybe it will be patched ( or so i hope... fingers crossed ), cause hitting power is really out of control this year. It's a HR festival.

Im using same sliders as I did last year and the game is fine.
Just played a game this morn and struck out 9 in first 5inn with pitches out of the zone!

Its all about the sliders. Default sliders provide an arcade experience. Gotta get the right ones to get simulation gameplay.

I'm sorry but this just isn't true.

I play on default HOF for both hitting and pitching and have had zero issues with too many homeruns or getting strikeouts.

But yeah I've hit some hr's on balls that weren't really squared up.

how many games of DD have you gotten in so far on 17? could it be an anomaly in a small sample size?
