Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

Will be starting up my stros once the rosters drop. First order of buisness...

Goodbye Tony Sipp!!

Knowing he is virtually worthless, I’m thinking of packaging him with McCugh & A.J. reed.

Thoughts on a target or fair return. Would be looking for a reliever preferably with atleast 1 year of team control, left handed

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

2 trade proposals :

Trade 1
Orioles Acquire : SP Chase Anderson
Brewers Acquire : C Chance Cisco

Rational : Orioles upgrade rotation with a solid starter and Brewers add a top 100 prospect at one of their weaker positions.

Trade 2
Orioles Acquire 3B Matt Chapman
Athletics Acquire RP Mychal Givens

Rational : Orioles add a 3B of the future with power and great defense and the A's add a quality pre arb reliever to the pen.

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

I'm looking to pull of a few pre-season trades in my franchise. Any help on values would be appreciated

1.
SF gets: Phillips/Santana/Broxton
MIL gets: Pitchers (Possibly Strickland?)
2.
ATL gets: Ryan Rua
TEX gets: Pitching
3.
OAK gets: Yasmani Grandal
LAD gets: ?
4.
DET gets: Kolten Wong
STL gets: Nike Goodrum

Not sure how well these work

Interesting thought.

Collin McHugh + Tony Sipp for Zach Britton.

Orioles get a starter that has been good in the past that is under control for a reasonable amount, and if he produces a 1.5 WAR he is about equal to the amount of what Britton will produce for you in one year. Sipp then just adds a lefty reliever for Baltimore to replace Britton. Win-win for both sides.

First one is pretty perfect value wise as I don't think Chase will duplicate a 4 WAR season, throw in one more prospect like DL Hall and that's a go...but the Brewers aren't really rebuilding so it isn't the most realistic.

Chapman is roughly going to be worth ~$138 million in surplus...

For example the #1 prospect in baseball is ranked at $73.5 million in surplus.

He can almost bring in two (!) number one prospects. Givens is not even close to enough.

Strickland for Broxton works fine. Strickland is solid, and Broxton gets most of his value on defense, but their WAR meet up pretty well.

Random lotto ticket pitcher works.

Why would they need Grandal with Lucroy?

Cardinals probably want one more lower prospect.

I accidentally typed OAK instead of LAA
Sounds good though. Thanks for the help

With the Brewers I look at it as they are adding a major league ready catcher. I really want to add Anderson so I think it would make the most sense in finding a match between the 2 teams.

The problem with trading for a guy like Chapman is he himself only as 84 games in the majors so he is still prospect status. It's hard finding fair value for a player like that as there aren't a lot of prospect for prospect trades. As the O's I would be the aggressor trying to pry him loose for Oakland. I agree Givens alone isn't close but what could be added to Givens to get closer?

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

Is RP Kyle Barraclough enough to net Broxton from the brewers? They have an absolute logjam at OF and he would give a team planning to contend another bullpen piece. with almost identical career WAR
