Hitting settings?

What hitting settings does everyone use? I’ve long struggled to find something I enjoy.I often struggle with PCI, I’ve never cared much for having to move a stick to match location, Ihave also tried directional solely for the timing based and at times this becomes to easy to pound out hits.

Also is it just me or is pitching more forgiving this year? I am pitching on HOF difficulty and more often than not holding CPU opponents to 0 runs/4-5 hits per game.I don’t consider myself good by any means.

I've left both at default thus far as I adjust to the game. I find that hitting is somewhat easier for me this year as far as locating the pitch and timing it, but I seem to hit everything right at a fielder.

I'm having the same experience you are with pitching. My dynamic difficulty keeps rising, and I keep getting outs, and strikeouts. Lots of 2 run or less games run games. I rarely time the delivery correctly, yet the CPU just flails away - this with Twins pitchers no less.

Yes I too get many K's while missing my mark. As for hitting I am finding I go opposite field or up the middle quite often. Maybe I'll change back to default and try that again, just never cared much for moving a PCI.

Re: Hitting settings?

I'm using directional for hitting. I just can't get the hang of moving the PCI to the ball. I have low-moderate overall success when I'm patient. You'd be hard pressed to sneak a fastball by me, but like a lot of others, I have trouble with breaking balls. Especially the really slow stuff. Changeups are the bane of my existence right now. I've tried all the hitting cameras and customized my own to try and find the sweet spot. I just can't hit that pitch. I sort of view batting as a necessary evil. Hit variety has been spot on for me. Nothing too crazy or repetitive.

Pitching is another story. I consider myself to be above average-good at pitching. I'm on HOF+ right now and I'm getting realistic results. For instance, if I pitch with Julio Teheran, a majority of the time I'll grind out a quality start. But I have to really work for it and pitch smart. There is the occasional shelling when I run out an average pitcher. If I use somebody like Scherzer there is a good chance I will dominate due to stuff alone. Even if I miss some spots with him I can get batters to chase. Just can't leave anything over the plate obviously. It really depends a lot on the pitcher more than anything I think. I like that ratings matter and not just stick skills.

Re: Hitting settings?

I have always used pure analog hitting because I don't want to have to align the left stick with the pitch location and I just can't get immersed in hitting with a button either . Don't know why it seems not to many others use pure analog ??

Mainly because it doesn’t feel natural to most people I’d assume. I’ve been playing baseball video games for 20+ years now and have ALWAYS hit a button to swing, why change now? The analog to swing seems like another unnecessary input when I can just hit a button. That’s my two cents anyway.
