SDS has got to be the least*innovative and laziest sports game company of all sports game companies if you think about the ideas they have came up with for franchise mode in the past 5 to 6 years is 3 to 4 different ways to simulate games that’s pretty much it and MTO which was created last year while they were working on franchise mode and decided to make it its own mode is just another way to sim games

Anyone know if that awesome trade hub is gonna be in Franchise mode? Or is gonna be stranded in this shallow watered down version of season mode?

I really don't get the appeal of March to October. I'm disappointed to see it get more resources than Franchise has the last two years.

I did enjoy MTO while waiting for OSFM to drop last year. I won the WS with the Mets and Brewers and then lost in the wild card game with the Reds.

It was a fun way to get through a season full of highs and lows and intense moments throughout.

I like the changes they made for ‘20. The biggest is the improved situations they’ll drop you in. It felt like a grind being thrown into the 6th inning. I’m expecting these new situations to be engaging, intense and rewarding. They did say they’ll still be the No on No out start of an inning games but not often. This will make the season go by faster and I will be able to do it with more teams I’m interested in.

The trades and callups are a nice touch. It will be better having a little more control over the direction of the trades you receive instead of it being random and you praying to the show gods to send you an offer for a 2B. And the callups will help keep the rosters fresh and actually allow you to use real life prospects who are expected to make an impact this year be apart of your MTO unlike last year.

Though I do agree that new trade hub must be in franchise mode

Like the game of baseball itself, The Show and SDS development has become extremely metrics driven. They've given the stats several times before, but Franchise players only make a small portion of their total players who buy the game. And they track metrics on usage/habits in addition to game modes being played. They know how often people 'X' through presentation. They know how often people Sim, how often people use quick counts, quick manage... How many people complete even a single season in Franchise mode. And so on, and so on.

I'm certainly disappointed that Franchise hasn't seen much in the way of upgrades or improvements for years. But I do understand SDS's approach of focusing on the game modes that 90% of people play (RttS or DD). At least I understand it from the business standpoint.

Also, I'm guessing they shifted some of their resources to start working with PS5 dev kit this year, so the game in general on PS4 is approaching its full lifecycle...

Ditto, I ran through MTO w/Angels and Rockies while waiting for OSFM. Won WS with Angels on All Star. Lost with Rockies in Division Series on Hall of Fame.

So I do like that you get some rewards even if you don't win the WS this year. And Dynamic Difficulty and/or the ability to change difficulty is nice, as straight Hall of Fame is a bit too difficult for my old eyes and reaction time!

Yep, this is clearly what I see going on as well. I know it's hard to believe this when you post here, where it seems like we are all franchise guys, but if we were the high percentage of the fanbase, we would see some of these issues (progression/regression, budgets, trade logic, etc) fixed. Many franchise bugs have been known for 5+ years without being fixed. If we franchise guys were the biggest % of purchasers. then this things wouldn't still be broken.

I still contest that if all you play is franchise, you are better served to but every other year. They do not make significant changes to warrant buying every year and blindly giving them your money does not motivate them to do anything about it.

It looks like maybe the red fielding gloves look a little brighter this year, and not so maroon.
