I haven't quite finished a full season yet but it's my opinion not only is 21 worth every penny I spent in my purchase (well over 1000 pennies for those keeping score) but also if Freddy Lindstrom belongs in the HoF, so does 21.
I have the ps4 version but if I had the create a stadium, I'm positive I'd spend more hours on the PlayStation, but probably less time actually playing.

year in and year out, while I have minor complaints about the snails pace improvements, nonetheless every year it does improve, no matter how so slightly. but my biggest complaint is the default roster. what I wish there would be is actually several rosters hardwired into the game.
like take 21, for example, there would be the most up-to-date roster at launch, but there would also be a couple other rosters to choose from, one being an Opening Day roster for the 2020 season and another roster for the end of the 2020 season, obviously minus any players who retired and couldn't be legally included in 21.
I spend waay too much time every year reworking rosters to my admittedly finicky tastes, it delays my playing time. I know that's on me but it is what it is and where I stand. I already know once I complete my Orioles '21 season I will retweak the roster before I start either a White Sox or Rockies season
(or hopefully start a true franchise with Atlanta if we hear carry-over saves will resume w/22)
:fingers crossed:
but aside from that, once I actually get rosters where I want them, it's on like Diddy Kong

Playing on PS5 and I am in May of 2022 with the Twins. Playing 1 game from every series. This is the furthest I have gotten into a franchise with MLB since 2017. Idk if its the PS5 or the game itself but it is so smooth and the new animations and mechanics make it feel like a new game and a lot less robotic if that makes sense. The trade logic still leaves a lot to be desired, TB refuses to keep Wander Franco.... But that's my only real gripe. I am enjoying the game a lot this year. The fielding and pitching changes alone are enough to warrant my purchase. Well done SDS.

The Wander thing kept happening in my 20 until I moved a couple of their other SS's...My understanding is that it's just the (poor) CPU AI trying to balance rosters. Atlanta was doing the same thing with Waters because they had an overabundance of CF's. A number of other teams with deep prospect pools at certain positions seem to do it as well, unfortunately. Unfortunate to hear that it still happens in 21, but I suppose it makes a weird sort of sense given that the game is likely only tested with default rosters.

I definitely need the auto jump and dive though lol

So I am actually digging the new fielding after playing a few games with it on. I am using the drift ball option, wall ribbon off, and I do like the option (can't remember what it's called) that puts that red line out showing best route to the ball. That alone makes all the difference for me. I've only blundered once and it led to a triple but getting the hang of it and it's actually pretty good.

I usually do try manual fielding ever year but soon turn back to auto. But MLB 21 definitely has the best fielding the game has ever had. Makes game even more fun to play now so kudos to SDS for making it enjoyable and much easier to use.

I have 12 as my second favorite but for probably different reasons:
I had 12 for the PS3 & the Vita, so I put more time into that year playing the Show than I ever had previous to that, and not just the Show, but any baseball video game period. as for work, that was no doubt my least productive ever, because I spent sooo much time at work on the Vita. good times

FWIW 14 is my favorite, I still spend a ton of time replaying it. even went so far as to make a run on nearly every Gamestop within a 60 mile radius of Birmingham, rounded up about a dozen $2 discs. never gonna worry about not being able to play 14 lol

I spent more time playing 14 the year it came out than I did 12 because that was the first fall in 15 years I didn't have NCAAF to take away from my baseballing
