PS5 VRR Support Coming This Week

Awesome news came out a few hours ago stating that the VRR update for the PS5 is rolling out this week! Only a handful of games will utilize it at first but you can also turn it to Always On and it will help boost games that aren't even on the list. This is awesome and I can't wait till it drops!

Good question! I'm not totally sure but you can bet I'm gonna test it out on The Show when the update drops to see if I can tell any differences

Brings back memories of The Show in 3d. While 3D was actually too much to ask for the PS4 at the time (it has to render every image double) it was pretty cool seeing the Green Monster towering in left field while batting feeling like you were actually standing there at the plate at Fenway.

That was the PS3 wasnt it? I remember playing Uncharted 3 in 3D which was pretty amazing.

The Show uses traditional vsync which is why the game shutters / stutters when the frame rate drops below 60hz because it is duplicating frames. Even if The Show did use VRR the game dips below the operating range of the VRR technology. Until the game can maintain a minimum fps that won't fall below spec of the VRR technology it won't be of any benefit. The game needs to either be locked at a rock solid 60fps at all times or multiples of 60hz (ie 120hz) or it needs to fluctuate between 48-75hz for amd freesync or 60-120hz for freesync premium.
