Ya, I know. I just don't know if there's any significance to the horseshoe or if that's just what came to mind or if it has to do with being on the "struggling dairy farm" in Minnesota.

I'm guessing because Brock thought Mir got lucky in the first fight, hence the horseshoe.

Re: UFC 100

With the UFC 100 prelims already underway and the main card just minutes from starting, the salaries for the main event fighters have been released as well as the bonus amounts for tonight's show, according to a report by Yahoo.com's Kevin Iole via his official Twitter account.

UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will take home a flat $400,000 paycheck for his efforts at UFC 100, making him the highest paid fighter on the card before anything even happens.

His opponent, interim champion Frank Mir, will earn $45,000 for his show money, and another $45,000 if he defeats Lesnar for the second time in his career.

UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre has a chance to match Lesnar's payout with a win, as he will earn $200,000 for the fight, and an extra $200,000 if he gets the title defense win.

Thiago Alves, taking his first shot at a UFC championship, will take home $60,000 as his show money and another $60,000 if he can unseat St. Pierre as the welterweight champion.

"Ultimate Fighter" season 9 coach Dan Henderson will make $100,000 to show and $150,000 if he wins, while his opponent and fellow coach, Michael Bisping, will earn $150,000 to show and $100,000 for a win.

Iole also announced on his Twitter page that UFC president Dana White confirmed that the bonuses for "Fight of the Night," "Knockout of the Night," and "Submission of the Night" will be $100,000 apiece, which is the biggest award the promotion has ever offered for a single bonus at an event.

Stay tuned to MMAWeekly.com after UFC 100 closes for the fighters that will earn the $100,000 bonuses.

Mir got nothing compared to what brock got... surprise Hendo and Bisping made more then Mir.

Wow... I'm amazed sometimes by how little some of these guys make.

IMO to be considered the best p4p fighter you should finish title defenses. Like I said, I knew it wouldn't be a popular opinion but you can show me a battered and beaten picture of Alves too if you'd like it won't change my mind. And for the record I think GSP is one of the best fighters in the world, I just have a hard time calling him the best p4p at this time.
I thought Brock was too conservative against Herring. But I also recognize it's tough to finish a tough guy who's determined to turtle.

I don't GSP has been too conservative lately, though. He rocked Fitch repeatedly in their fight, but Fitch hung on. Against Alves, GSP rocked him once and nearly finished him, and another time he finished a round with total back control looking for a rear naked choke.

He's been looking to finish guys. He's been striking, exchanging, he's been constantly passing guard and striking on the ground, and he's been going for submissions. And he's been incredibly effective. But a couple guys managed to weather some serious storms, so GSP had to settle for merely beating them up.

Look, GSP is currently fighting in the most stacked division in any organization right now. It'd be nice for him if he had some guys like Tsuyoshi Kohsaka or Kevin Randleman or Zulizinho or Yuji Nagata to rack up easy finishes on. But he doesn't. So this idea that he has to be finishing everyone he fights is just nuts.

Don't get me wrong, you don't have to find GSP entertaining. It's totally fine if you don't. But that's on you, not GSP.

That doesn't even come close to telling the whole story. Main event guys take him the vast majority of their money from a percentage of the PPV revenue, which doesn't have to be released to the NSAC.

Furthermore, any bonuses the UFC pays out doesn't have to be reported either.

And none of that factors in sponsorships, either.

It's simply impossible to tell how much a guy actually gets paid based on what is reported to the NSAC.

Every card this cycle repeats itself.

Thats exactly what it was, he said as much multiple times in interviews. Brock thought he gave the first fight to Mir and felt Mir was lucky to win thanks to Mazzagatti standing them back up, hence the lucky horseshoe comment.

Re: UFC 100

How did Jonny Bones Jones not get submission of the night? His d'arce choke-like thing was a lot more impressive than Lawlor's run-of-the-mill guillotine. That cost Jonny Bones Jones $100k.
