Re: WEC 51: Aldo vs. Gamburyan

Aldo has the advantage over Edgar for one very good reason. Aldo throws leg kicks, hard and fast. That in itself will negate Edgar's best weapon, his speed. So if they ever do fight, no way would Edgar try to stand with him.

Aldo already looks big for his weight class, so going up a class shouldn't be a problem for him.

Seems like Aldo packs more power?

I might provide more power than Edgar

Aldo is the best fighter in the world.. pretty much.

He's Anderson Silva except with legitimate takedown defense and probably way better jiu jitsu (if it ever mattered). It doesn't really matter because no one can fight him on his feet either. This is the complete, dynamite, 100% fantastic in every single-aspect-of-the-game-fighter, and I don't know how you can beat him.

Good luck Josh Grispi. I would love to see Aldo vs Marlon Sandro, but that won't happen.

I want Aldo to go up and murder Penn so bad. Straight-up close the book on that dude. Then go KTFO Edgar.

As always, another great card from the WEC. I was glad to see Miguel back to form and Varner get his *** beaten for 3 rounds. Aldo is a straight up beast. There's no two ways around it. You could see the change on Manvil's face when that first leg kick landed. He had that "Holy crap I need to get this to the ground" look.

BJ Penn wouldn't last with Aldo. Aldo is just as fast if not faster then Edgar. BJ wouldn't be able to keep up and get gassed out trying to land a strike on him. I believe Aldo might have the reach advantage too.

Re: WEC 51: Aldo vs. Gamburyan

I would like to see Aldo fight maybe one or two fights in WEC at LW before going to the UFC.

There could be some exciting fights still to be had in the WEC

Aldo v Cerrone
Aldo v Henderson

During the discussion centered on Aldo potentially moving up to lightweight, Donald Cerrone made a comment under his breath. Though difficult to hear, it was certainly in reference to a possible match-up between the two. Aldo responded in his native Portuguese.

A smiling Harris responded jokingly to the banter between fighters from different nations: “See, they can’t really talk s--t, cause they don’t speak the same language.”
