So UFC is going to get to a point in which there are no more PPV's? That was the plan w/ the fox deal, correct?

No way UFC gets rid of PPV's.

Not unless someone offers another contract to take the PPVs and put they on TV. It may be the plan, but it is a distant plan. We are talking about $250 million (this is a high estimate, probably closer to $200 right now) per year. The FOX deal is what only like $100?

Makes sense. Was just wondering why they keep putting these awesome cards on free tv. Not that I'm complaining.

I think FOX has some requirements about title fights being on FOX. Also with the # of divisions now, UFC has a lot of room. The free cards have been good, but they haven't had PPV stars. Those guys will most likely stay on PPV as the free cards wouldn't be making a ton of money.

Through the first half of last year, the PPV numbers were down compared to other years.

Fox is paying 800 million dollars for the license so they should get some awesome cards.

I know Alholbert mentioned this in the MMA Random thread, but I thought it was appropriate to post in this thread... Just that I don't know why Bendo is looking ahead of Gil. Not that I think he still won't beat Gil, but I wish guys would just focus on their fights in front of them before saying who else you want to face in the future.

I'm not banking on it, but if Bendo is looking past Gil, that might be one of Gil's best hopes at winning this fight.
