Not me, I pretty much suck at hitting. Someone in another thread mentioned that Tony Gwynn said one time to focus on the pitchers' cap. Since I've started doing that, I've improved. It seems to make it easier to read the pitch, rather than react to it like I've been doing.

Hitting seems to ebb and flow for me. I lose a game 3-1 then win one 7-3 with Heelfan's sliders (a bit modified).

One thing I've noticed is that you can pick up the type of pitch with the hitter's eye when the ball is still in the pitcher's glove or at the very beginning of his wind-up. This especially helps with those nasty change-ups.

yeah, some pitchers don't hide the ball very good and sometimes you can see the color before they even throw it.

Best game yet.

I've been using your sliders as a base, but I've modded them significantly to taste. I just finished a game against the Indians that just rocked.

5-4 M's over Indians in 12 innings.

The Indians touched up my starter Gil Meche for 2 runs in the 1st inning (Double by Aaron Boone)

I got 2 runs back in the 3rd inning with a clutch 2 out 2-run double by Bucky Jacobson and then in the 4th inning a solo HR by Ibanez to take the lead.

Millwood then shut me down through the 7th inning and the Indians took the lead on a HR by Aaron Boone in the 8th off my Bullpen.

I go to the 9th down a run and rookie Jeremy Reed singles home the tying run with 2 outs and two strikes. And then in his next AB he hits a line shot HR just inside the foul poll to win the game!

That was a FUN game.

Your sliders (with the User hitting dropped quite a bit and the AI hitting upped slightly) are playing a good game for me.

Re: Heelfan's PRO Sliders (xbox)

I've been using these sliders for a few games, and I must say, they are class. Next game I'll remember to jot down some numbers.

One thing I did notice while hitting against Bartolo Colon was, when he pitches from the stretch he doesn't hide the ball at all. You can see it while it's still "in" his glove. Helped me tee off on a few of those nasty changeups that everyone seems to throw in this game.
